That lady ref is in way over her head. When she tried to say it wasn't a fumble, thank goodness another ref stepped up and overruled her.

I see games decided on questionable calls all the time in almost every sport. That roughing the passer call is making me believe that I probably have better things to do than watch terrible officiating dictating how a game flows. Especially when the other team takes out the QB I am rooting for with a much more aggressive yet not penalized hit.

Explain it? Ok, it was a bad call. Bad calls happen every single game, every week, in every sport at every level. This is not the first time there's been a bad call and won't be the last. There will be more next week. As long as humans are making decisions, there will be inconsistencies.

Yeah, I heard Johnson. I'm supposed to listen to a guy who is mad that a bad call was made against his team? What proof does he have that the refs were bribed? Bribed by who? Who benefits by the Steelers losing? Jax has better attendance than we do. They are owned by someone far richer than Art Rooney is. We are literally one of the poorest franchises in the league yet one of the more popular ones, so why is the NFL making us lose?

Also, the refs don't have such a strangle hold on the game that they can make teams win or lose, not without it being painfully obvious. To ensure a win or a loss, players would need to be in on it.

It’s obvious you are from outside the US. Attendance is based in part to the facility size. Do you really want to compare Jacksonville’s fan base to ours? They have been struggling down there for a long time. Their attendance spiked after they tanked for Lawerence and now it’s better. To keep it better they need success. The steelers don’t need draft picks or help to maintain its fan base. I’m from Pittsburgh and you do not understand the sport. Poorest franchises lol. STOP

The off-sides call was a joke, but that fumble was close. The ball was moving, but it wasn't fully out when his knee hit the ground.

Bad calls happen. I am certain that the NFL is morally capable of fixing a result if they thought it was in the league's best interest, but the risk is far too high to be worth such a minimal reward. It would be devastating for the league if it became public. It would turn off fans in droves and open the league up to lawsuits. It just isn't worth it.

I recall Ben once saying that one reason he and Antonio Brown were such a threat together is that they read defenses the same way. At the snap, he would know exactly what Brown would do based on how the defense was aligned against him. I doubt Kenny and Dionte have that same chemistry as once or twice a game they seem to be reading and reacting differently to the defensive scheme.

Do you think it was just a fluke that James Harrison was fined over and over and drug tested week after week randomly? If he had a good game or did a strength video he somehow ended up on a random list? The Steelers have been in the league’s sights since they pushed the Rooney rule and they were the only team to push back in favor of the union.

Typically referring to the "refs being paid off" is a reference or figure of speech used to say that the refs were bad in a painfully one-sided fashion. As if the only plausible explanation to be that bad in one teams favor is that they were paid off to be that way. I'm not sure if he actually thinks money exchanged hands or for anyone to look into it. Kinda just used in that manner.

My location has nothing to do with my understanding of attendance and net worth. Unless you can explain to me how being from Canada prevents me from researching attendance figures or the net worth of an owner.

Pittsburgh doesn't have the financial backing that Jacksonville does. I do not care if their uptick in attendance is a recent thing or not. There's been comments about both Jax and Denver that they are failing franchises and need help. That's ridiculous in the case of Denver. They are the opposite of failing. Depending on the source you use and trust (I admit they are all slightly different) Pittsburgh is either middle of the pack or towards the bottom in franchise value. Not that I care either way, but Pittsburgh isn't exactly the Dallas Cowboys. It's a smaller franchise with less financial backing than many other franchises. That's not a negative thing, it's just reality.

Yeah, many times, but there's literally people on here claiming the games are fixed, bribes are being paid, Vegas is influencing games, refs are point shaving, "failing" teams such as the Broncos only won so they won't go bankrupt, etc. Probably the same people who think the earth is flat and the moon landing was fake.

I get what you are saying but sounds a lot like the buzz around the original replay rule that started years ago. Most people said the refs calls are part of the game and using video to call that game will ruin it etc. you can ensure calls are proper and if a mistake is made, just fix it.

I’m just saying that you can’t look at attendance at a facility to determine fan support. If the Steelers had a 120,000 seat facility they could fill it. There is massive support all around the world. Jacksonville does not have that. You should go to a game and you would understand. In fact, go to an away game and you would still understand. When I say Denver is struggling I mean fan support and expectations. They just sold that team and it sold for a lot. You would very suprised at what the Steelers would sell for. Don’t listen to the estimators, it would be massive because the buyer would know the fanbase it brings. Which team do you think would bring the best Monday night TV ratings? Steelers, Broncos or Jaguars?

Ben said the FedEx letters arrive on Tuesday. I will be curious to see what the amounts are tomorrow; if they are publicly posted anywhere.

I know the league has issued some letters of an apology when a team has been wronged by an Official's Call; I don't know when those letters come out.

The Steelers can’t even fill the stadium. They have now. Look at all the no-shows.

Every game is a sell out. Most of the no shows are tickets that didn’t sell third party. You can’t look at the start of the game or at half time. I’ve been to 30 home games and they are always full. The preseason sells out. We sell out other stadiums!

I didn't get the fumble out of bounds and the 10 second run off. So Pickett got the 1st down but fumbled the ball forward out of bounce after the line of gain. Booth review for under 2 minutes and they come back with they made the line of gain but we need a ten second runoff? Why?

Wonder why they won’t just let the players issue an apology like they do if they don’t want the fine? They don’t send letters of apology, they usually call so there is nothing to post on the internet.

don't worry Mike Tomlin will probably be fined too for his few choice words to a ref.

Any other time in a game and we'd hardly notice but with 20 some seconds left in the half (from fuzzy memory) that was killer.

It's a rule that if the ball is fumbled out of bounds under 2 mins, then there is the runoff. It is meant to prevent players from intentionally fumbling the ball out of bounds while in the grasp which would keep the clock running. Basically it is a letter of the law thing that is supposed to happen. Kenny got the line to gain, was "stripped" right before his foot hit, so technically he was hit in play and fumbled out of bounds... making it a run off. Its a weird rule, but they got that one right. Had they not spotted the ball so horrendously though, we never would've had to go to replay. The refs ineptitude found a loophole that changed the game lol
