A semi competent offense would have gotten a win today.

Pickett never looks comfortable in the pocket  put the other Herbig at center and see what happens.

That's true. Why weren't the Jags lucky when DJ dropped a couple passes for big plays early in that game that could have given the Steelers an early lead?

If it was the other way around, everyone would say the Steelers lucked out when it was really a lack of execution by the other team.

Luck may be the wrong word, but at the same time it's not usual to see a 4-2 team be 31st in yards in offense and 30th in defense....It's not sustainable in the long run.You can't win big with that

I hate Matt Canada. There's no other way to say it. Yeah, the players play and there were mistakes (the huge one on the 1st play, for example) but everything stems from the poor schemes, play calls, adjustments, etc. It's so bad and demands complete change. It's all wasted time until then.

Things always even out. We are that bad but I’m not going to say it’s the year he is finally under .500. Been burnt saying that too many times :lolol:

Supposedly, Herbig had trouble with snaps when he has played center. Then again, Cole was having trouble with snaps today, too, so why the hell not make the switch?

Just put MR in if KP is out for any length of time. He gives us a better chance to win than Mitch. the way the defense is busting their butts out there the offense has to find a way to score more points. Mitch is just not a capable backup.

I'm just speculating here, but I think Fitzpatrick is going to be out for a while. The secondary was bad with him. It is a disaster without him.

Steelers have not had a 400 yard day on offense since week 2 of 2020 (before Canada). That’s 55 games. They are 32-22-1 in that stretch… a .590 win percentage. They have sustained it very well actually.

If Pickett doesn’t get hurt I actually feel like they win the game today.

Fitz getting hurt as well didn’t help.

I missed the opening drive today, including that first play from scrimmage. Johnson has to catch that ball. That was a great opportunity to get off to a fast start.

In fact, they won the first 9 games in this strech and since that time they are 23-22-1...If you are happy with that, good for you but you need to have one of the best record in the league in one score game to be just over .500 and create so many turnovers on defense to just have a decent record but you are likely not win big with that. You will be blowout against very good team for most of the time with such a anemic offense

The defense definitely kept us in it. We were waiting for the offense to figure it out and get some points, but they never really did. We definitely dont suck as a team. We just need a competent offense to be a good team and we don't have that. So we are just an ok team.

Offensively we need to just bite the bullet and make some changes. Broderick in at LT, if Dan Moore wants to play better get comfortable at RT or get comfortable on the bench. Simple as that. Time for Najee to relinquish his starting RB spot too. I've been a defender of his over the years, but its mid-way through year 3 and it isn't getting any better. He's too slow, not explosive, and has bad vision. Pickett needs to get his game together also or it will be time to move on from him too. He's too inconsistent. He makes some great throws and has some really encouraging plays.... then he absolutely blows some easy ones and its hard to believe its the same guy. And obviously the OC needs to go. We wasted a whole year not firing his a$$ in the offseason and cost us a real opportunity to judge KP. These decisions have consequences. If KP isn't it, we will probably waste all of 2024 figuring out if he's garbage or not with a new OC.

Yeah it was rough. Throw wasn't perfect, but he has to have that one. The problem with our offense is how perfect we have to be just to move the ball. One drop on the opening play that could've been a big play for us, and then we gain less than 10 yards on our next 11 plays en route to four consecutive "3 and outs" to start the game. Other teams find a way to overcome a couple drops, or a penalty or two... but if we have a drop or a penalty then the drive is over. Punt time.
