Can't take it anymore, wideouts making the same mistakes week after week.Team never discipline.Tomlin hard headed as he is refused to remove Canada. The WR's heads are not in the game at all, when your offense is struggling you don't do bone head stuff costing them yardage on the field. It all leads back to one person Tomlin

Well... you will be in luck come 2024 as Canada is definitley gone. Possible that Austin is to. Danny Smith isn't getting any younger. Moreover to the point regarding Tomlin.

Tomlin's contract expires following the conclusion of the 2024 season. Should he not get one next season.... new Era indeed.

Trade Tomlin while he’s under contract and stack up the high draft picks. Get some kind of value for him now before we don’t re-sign him and recoup nothing!!!

Need to add in new ownership as well. Don't think I will last another 17 years and be forced to watch the same sht show interspersed with a couple of good seasons. JMO>

The ownership continues to function like it's the 70's..it's an offensive league now.
Just because dad never fired a coach don't mean you should keep a failing one.
I hate to say it but if we want a change we must show the owners we mean business.
As long that stadium is filled they don't give a D***..

just a few Pros and Cons about that----------

Pros: Tomlin wouldn't be on the street very long. He is an elite motivator and consensus builder. He was best when he had 4 head coaches under him being assistant coaches who would win the game for him.

He is not Josh McDaniels-like stupid. He doesn't lose control of the locker room like all the Cardinals coaches. The players believe in him. His former players speak positively about him.

As an underdog, His record against the spread is terrific. I think I read 50-20 or so. Even better bet at home against the spread. Above average drafter. (the patriots wish they could draft like the steelers and the steelers wish they could coach like the patriots.)

He has the best owner in the NFL. He has the best GM in the NFL and has a good relationship with both.

    Cons:

Tomlin is not very good lately with picking quality assistant coaches. and that is a major reason for bad teams at times.

He is not a good strategy guy like Belichick. He is not knowledgeable of the rules like Vrabel. He is a below average clock manager. Poor record when favored in a game.

The best Owner and Best GM according to who???? :roflmao:

His Grandfather may have been the best owner 50 years ago and what the hell has Omar proven in year 1 as a GM? Where do people come up with this stuff.

If they extend Tomlin again, I'm moving on. Been a fan since 1970. Camped out in freezing weather at Three Rivers to get playoff tickets. I'm sick and tired of the mediocrity. Ownership needs to make wholesale changes. The Steelers have not been legitimate contenders for many years.

You know Mac you are exactly right. As mad as I get at all the coaches ultimately it’s one man allowing it to continue. He is a disgrace to the Rooney name and fans of Pittsburgh.

How about consistently giving up outside contain with the defensive edge players and consistently having them crash down the line of scrimmage and not changing it up schematically when other teams keep gashing us for big runs to the outside. We are so resistant to change and tweak things from weak to weak let alone in game it us maddening.

I agree with your assessment. I think Tomlin is a great big picture guy and motivator as well as great at evaluating talent. With that being said how could he be so poor at evaluating coaching talent. It makes me feel like he chooses yes men because she is enamored with power and control. He is to smart of a guy to have the track record he does of picking poor assistant coaches.

On the analytics side and clock management as well as challenges, I feel we are understaffed and don’t give those areas enough attention. Is that a Tomlin issue again, trying to do everything himself or are the Rooneys being cheap here?

I really think Tomlin has too much power at this point. It’s apparent when we keep making the same mistakes week after week or even year after year and there is a resistant to change. The old line of we just need to execute better doesn’t work anymore. The Rooneys have been drinking their own koolaid of slow and steady builds consistency and wins the race.

I think this organization has become a little arrogant in living off reputation.

The Tomlin era ended in last AFC championship game when Belichick depantsed him on a national stage. We had more talent then them and they blew us out . Then Ben got hurt and every game since the elbow injury has looked the same. A pathetic offense where it looks like they do not practice and a defense that has to be on the field all day and has talent all over the place but cant cover anyone and lets teams run all over us. The only way we ever win is to get turnovers by d and a late offense drive. We are lightyears from elite AFC teams. Fire Tomlin and start over. He does not have any years left anyway.

The same place as the people who "know" that we have the worst owner, coach and GM.

Id agree with a lot of this and the really frustrating thing is that his shortcomings could be addressed by putting better coaching personnel around him. This roster probably still isn’t good enough to challenge for a championship but nobody is going to convince me that they can’t do better than they are right now.

Id be fine with Tomlin staying as HC if they’d put more resources in to his support staff. Going after Flores last season was the first time they’ve made a progressive coaching move in years, they need to do more of that.

I really think the problem is Tomlin!! He hires guys he can control and he has his hands in too many of the other areas. If he wants to be a DC, then step down and be a DC , but I doubt with the way he plays cover 2 ( Tampa 2 ) he will last long with any other team. Also, its extremely evident that Canada isnt getting the job done. It might be partly due to a near rookie QB, but even the experienced QB's ( Ben and Mitch ) look horrible in this offense, so I am placing the blame on Matt Canada, but Tomlin gets the heat here too because he could have fixed this issue and chose not to...why?? I am only going to speculate because he either feels his owes this man a position on this staff or he is a friend or he has control of him, in any of these cases its bad because you cant run a team that way. Just as you cant keep a player who is less talented over another simply because you like him or whatever. This team needs a coaching overhaul, we need to bring back someone who will hold players accountable on and off the field, they need to be football smart and they need to be prepared properly by a coaching staff that wont accept excuses.

    Hope is eternal.

Stale is as well. That is what this team is from Art II and Tomlin.

Hopefully Khan and Weidl are burning the midnight oil to turn this franchise around and cracking the stale shell of Art II.

I don't think the Steelers will make any major changes if they finish the season at 9-8
