I do know a wide open Pickens in 1 qtr was badly under thrown, gave db plenty of time to close distance to break it up.

With any luck, Joe Alt, JC Latham or even Amarius Mims will be available should this team be in top 15 consideration. Hell, if not an OT, Cooper DeJean is looking like one hell of a chess piece to the secondary. Either way, have to go one of two ways in 2024.

Don't get me started on Sedrick Van Pran either!!

The one where the DB almost had a pick DJ flat fell down before the ball got there. Now the one in the end zone that should have been a td was KFP waiting too long before throwing it, and then throwing it behind DJ. All on KFP that one

I really like your optimism. I hope we win out! Right now this team is awful.

The offense has been bad going back to Big Ben. This isn’t anything new. Common denominator is Canada and Tomlin.

Always look for the bright side. Never as bad as what it seems.

Really not fair to say that. We are talking about Ben's last year. Did you look at what T. Brady looked like His last year on a team that won a SB right before. Common denominator has be not awesome Qb play. Although I don't think Canada is good. You still can't have guys running open, and nobody seeing them

It’s not about being optimistic. It’s about being factual.
There’s currently 18 teams with a worse record than us and three other teams tied with our record and somehow we’re picking 5th?

I’m saying that it’s a struggle for anyone to play in this offense regardless of position. You could probably get a veteran QB that’s in his prime to make the offense look better, but that would probably only be because he’s calling some of his own plays.

Yes, top 5 draft pick is an exaggeration, but not the performance of the offense and defense. Granted defense wouldn't be as bad if offense would get some first downs. I would rather see Pickett throw 50 yard bombs that get picked than the 3 and outs.

100% agree on coaching, but Pickett has not proven anything yet either. People say Pickett has arm strength. You would think it would show up throwing into tight windows, but the defense has time to recover by the time the ball gets to the receiver.

We’re taking 7 games and comparing it to full seasons. Not a fair comparison. Besides wins are what count.

I don’t know if Pickett is really any good or not. Hard to tell in this offense. Mitch and Rudolph look terrible too. This offense has looked the same regardless of who is at QB. Time to move on to some new coaches.

Oh I forgot, they won today. Tomlin took them out for ice cream, too.

They lost. I’m saying I could care less about rankings if we’re winning. The offense is terrible, we all know that. The defense is better than their ranking. If you’re going to be put on the field as much as they have the overall yards are going to pile up and skew the rankings.

I don’t think anyone is denying that this team has its issues, but the other persons post was an exaggeration. And that was my original point.

I do hear You, but I really kinda stay away from the Canada stuff....because everyone knows I never wanted Him, and He won't be here after this year. I Look at who will be....Like our Qbs, and other players. There are plays to be had out there. Example 1st pass in the game. Another example....pass to DJ in the red zone. He was freaking college open. Yet both plays that should have equaled 14 points...we ended up getting 3. That can't be blamed on coaching. The worst coaching staff in the history of the world doesn't say hey Qb....throw that pass a little too high, and DJ don't catch it, and on the end zone play....Hey Qb wait for a few seconds after DJ is open dance around, and then throw it behind DJ.

Our offense stinks period. No one is going to thrive in the situation were in. No running game. No throws to the TE. Rarely throw to the middle of the field. Constantly throwing the ball at or behind the line of scrimmage. It's all recipe for disaster. Ben had perfected getting the ball out quick and the offense still was trash. Four different QB's and the same problems.
I'm not saying Pickett is without fault, but this isn't how you set a young QB up for success.

So I'm wrong that if just those two plays are done better We score 14 points???
Ben as washed up as He was had 22 tds, and 10 ints in the same offense....without the receiver threat We have right now....hell we don't have that many tds , and have more ints in the last 24 games with KFP, and Trubisky put together. Think about that, and say Qb has nothing to do with it.

Hold on now. Yes those plays should have been made and I even said that in the game thread when someone was bashing Canada. Ben had Johnson and Claypool (who was coming off a great rookie season) Ben is a Hall of Fame QB who I'm sure had some latitude in changing plays and making the offense better, but even he struggled under Canada. Remember when he had the same exact problem with the running game? No throws to the middle of the field? Face it this offense is not QB friendly or any other player friendly for that matter.

I don't know what all the fuss is about. The Steelers offense had over 200 yards passing. They're miles ahead of the Giants offense that put up a whopping -8 yards.
