REM was one of the bands I grew up with.

 

Saw them in Philly many moons ago. AWESOME concert!!

At the time the Philadelphia Flyers were good and so were the Buffalo Sabres. The guitar player for REM had a Sabre shirt on and fans let him know about it.

A band I played with did a cover of It's the End of the World everytime we played out. Our Drummer was a huge fan of REM.

I'm not at all familiar with Elephant Revival, but stumbled on their cover of this today. Schism is one of my all-time favorites, and this band's gypsy/Celtic/folk elements and instrumentation pair well with Tool's darker tones. It's a good cover.
