There are those on this board who have made it their mission to go after anyone who criticizes Tomlin for any reason. I like Tomlin but I think it’s time for him to write the next chapter in his life. He’s been a good coach but not a great coach and his teams have not been able to get over the hump and have any post season success. His legacy will be defined by non-losing seasons and non-winning post seasons. Of course my opinion could change depending on what Tomlin does with the current version of the Pittsburgh Steelers. I’m rooting for you, Coach T. :thumbs up:

I think he's a great person but also agree he needs to move on. Would love to see him prove me wrong, but he won't.

And there are some on here that complain no matter what He does. So it gets evened out. For example: I always always heard how He never game plans. Yet the game plan against the Rams....go two DL most of the game, and slow down the passing attack.....it works quite well, but what do We hear by the haters.....why are they so stupid they did that allowing the Rams to rush. When clearly that's not what the Steelers were in fear of. Had they allowed the passing game to go haywire on us, and allowed them to score at will in the passing game.....a bunch on here would have said ....see they just do their own thing...with no thought of the other teams. So no matter what ....it somehow becomes because He can't coach.

If you want to test what the refs are allowing on holding or PI, I get that. There’s competitive advantage that you can use thru the game. But there is no upside on testing what level of asshatery the refs tolerate.

Interestingly, the Steelers are the second least penalised team in the league so far this year. Most years they are middle of the pack.

I'm not defending the taunting, it was ****ing idiotic. But I also think most teams have their fair share of dumb ****. We're at least a long way from Chris Kemoeatu and Mike Mitchell-type stupidity.

I'm not one of Tomlin's biggest fans, but I do understand that what most coaches say publicly for the media and what they say privately to the players themselves are 2 vastly different things

I always thought Tomlin coddled the players a bit to much. He tends to let the natives run wild. The one thing that set me off was not stopping AB from getting those taunting penalties.

On the whole, I think most NFL Players wouldn't mind having Tomlin as their HC.

Clearly what he says behind doors is getting through to Pice
He runs a loose ship. I can’t tell you how many opposing fans I’ve talked to that see that, clearly. Players love him and don’t even hesitate to act up because they have zero fear of any consequences for their actions. Embarrassing to see guys act like we’re some bully when we haven’t won a playoff game in forever. I’ll enjoy the season but the end result will be similar.

I guess you are choosing to ignore the facts. Those are the first two taunting penalties the team has had since 2018 and they are the second least-penalized team in the league. Those facts so not fit your argument.

    Exactly

I understood exactly what Tomlin was saying and he is correct

But those were still dumb head penalties

When the Tenor Baritone or whatever costs us a game then the board will really blow up.

Jawing goes on but when you get in the face of someone with a gesture and a zebra is standing there the flag is coming out.

Hopefully Popcorn behind the scenes had a side bar with both Johnson and Pickens.

Tomlin actually spoke to him immediately after the play if I remember properly

He was talking to Pickens and DJ at the same time. Probably telling them both to settle down.
