"Tenor of a crew"

Is this guy even for real anymore? So DJ and George were supposed to get the feel for the "Tenor of the crew" instead of acting like amateurs?

 

I think there is a variety of things to criticize about Tomlin or the other coaches. I am not sure that their vocabulary or how they choose to word things would be on the top of my list.

Tenor of the Crew - aka - how are they going to call the game. I would choose to say it differently, but the concept is fair. No different than sitting at the baseball field and telling my son to be aware of how the Ump is calling strikes.

 

"Component" and "juncture" are always in there, lol.

 

Why do you listen to his press conferences? All y’all do is ***** and moan about them so why listen? Are you that miserable you just have to ***** about something?

I doubt your son does anything that hurts his team based on how strikes are called. Apples and oranges. They get paid to act like professionals, they aren't playing little league baseball for free. lmao.

The game is one of emotion. There are boundaries to that. It is a balance because some refs will call things tighter than others.

Pickens got up and got in the other persons face after the DB held onto his Jersey a little long. For context, there was a back and forth during the game (between the DBs and WRs). I would like for Pickens to show more restraint there, but in other games that wouldn’t be a penalty.

Given that you can’t see that, it shows your bias in looking for any reason to complain. Again, why wouldn’t you choose to complain about the offense doing nothing during 3 quarters of play. That would be at the top of my list.

 

I'm old school so instead of wondering about how the officiating crew will call taunting during a game, how about just don't taunt the opponent and leave nothing to chance.

 

Please highlight where he made an excuse for either of them. I would actually take the opposite view in that he told the players to be aware of the situation and how the game was being called.

 

If you can't see that players getting dumb penalties that hurt the team over and over and over is a coaching issue, I can't help you.

It doesn't happen over and over and over with other teams unless that team sucks. Tomlin is garbage.

A message board is a place where people exchange ideas and try to see other perspectives. I was just trying to understand your claim. Can’t back it up, that’s fine.

 

I agree, but it's not called both ways. Re-watch the game , and see Witherspoon taunting at times. I do agree with just do Your job, and get back into the huddle, but can't have it only one way.

 

I think I'm more likely to look at the positive and I'm definitely enjoying the victory, but I also have a problem with the way Pickens and Johnson behaved Sunday, especially with the game on the line. Their lack of discipline nearly cost the Steelers the game, or at least gave the Rams an opportunity to rally.

 

I was wondering about that. I didn't notice Witherspoon taunting, but I assumed he had been running his mouth given the shushing gesture by Johnson at the end. I'm not sure why he thought he had reason to talk. The Steelers picked on him all day, and he was the defender who whiffed on Harris on the play that set up Pickett's sneak for a touchdown.

I'm not sure if Witherspoon did something worthy of a penalty, but Pickens and Johnson absolutely did on that last drive. Both got in the face of a defender in a way that is often going to draw that flag. Pickens also made a stupid illegal block to negate a big pass play to Johnson and pulled that ridiculous showboating move on the sideline, holding the ball straight out before he had stepped out of bounds. Pickens is a great talent, but he really needs to grow up.

 

Oh I agree. As I stated in the taunting thread “act like you’ve been there before. However, that has nothing to do with this thread. This is just another poster complaining for the sake of complaining. You hate tomlin? No problem, but why on dog’s green earth would you watch his pressers? This tastes like ****! Can I have more?

 

His "zero to prick" time is easily the fastest on the market right now. He gets defensive easier than anyone I've ever seen on this message board and if you challenge him in any way he will just simply ignore you. It's actually quite comical really.

 

My FACT will beat your FACT! Not one person here was in the locker room OR subsequent meetings with players and coaches post game. There may have been loving cuddles OR there may have been an EPIC ass chewing. No one will ever know what kind of discipline was actually dispensed, though there are a few folks here that will tell you that they KNOW differently....My fact is that nobody here knows a single thing about what goes on behind closed doors. Proof on the field? YES!
