100%, you are professional being paid a lot of money so do your job and stop putting yourself in front of the team. Play the game with respect which means respect your opponents, your teammates and yourself. What should happen is you ride the bench for conduct detrimental to the team. This is the little stuff that has to be corrected on this team (go back to dumb-arse Antonio Brown where he kept getting endzone celebration penalties that were applied on the the kickoff which was never really addressed because it kept happening). As for the OP's original statement, sorry never did it because if we did our coach would have ripped our ass and would have sat and beyond that we were raised to respect our teammates and to put the team first, always!!

Or the rest of game where their teammates are pissed because their behavior cost them a game. Private Pyle received the blanket party so maybe DJ and George need one!! HA. "I have failed because you have not provided Private Johnson and Private Pickens the proper motivation. So from now on whenever Private Johsnon or Private Pickens facks up, I will not punish them, I will punish you. And as I see it you owe me for two stupid ass penalties!! Fines for everyone!!".

The refs in that game were horrible! The rams were taunting to! And no way that should be a 15 yard penalty!

It’s just a sign of the times anymore. Kids these days are soft and get their feelings hurt way too easily. Those taunting calls were ridiculous. Just another way they are softening the game up. Could you imagine players from the 60’s all the way to the 90’s being flagged 15 yards for basically intimidating an opposing player? The funniest thing was Marsha Brady last week coming out saying the roughing the passer calls being enforced too easily. He was the biggest crybaby for that call during his career. These refs these days are deciding too many games with their quick to throw yellow hankies. This whole weekend was full of terrible calls.

Right, what the receivers did wasn't any worse than Najee and the LB going at it.

It’s dumb all of it… do your job and bump your gums after closing time. Sadly it’s in every job. Blowhards causing unnecessary noise is all it is. Down at the lumberyard we get a good serving of of 60+ yr old men acting like fookin toddlers regularly… they should know it’s embarrassing and not productive but hey some folk’s kids ya know? Hahahaha

I agree, but I still don't see that DJ one as a penalty. Those two know each other well. I think intent should be involved. Where was the penalty earlier in the game when the same CB threw His hand up showing get that out of here???

No Fun League. Remember JuJu getting fined for standing over and looking down at Burfict? Who was the player that got flagged for starring at our sidelines from near midfield(taunting the sideline)?

I think they should let WRs and CBs talk to each other. So long as they aren't putting their hands on one another or spitting, etc. To me it's no different than guys celebrating with signature moves after a TD or QB sack.

Somewhere there is a video of TJ Houshamouth talking about the time he trash talked Troy, and Troy just said God Bless You. These guys should be able to take some trash talking.

There’s no exception in the rules for friends. Refs aren’t out there on the field thinking oh they used to be teammates this one is okay

I don’t like the tight grip on taunts either. But I think they’re trying to keep fights from breaking out.

Basically more nanny rules, just like the QB protection rule

I think the taunting foul is intended to prevent dirty hits more than fighting.

It’s a high-adrenaline, high-emotion game played by men typically in their twenties. (Who’ve probably been coddled to some degree growing up.) They’re human. We can’t expect them to be in control of their emotions at every moment.

Sorry, my bad.... Pickens did do a crackback...
I was expanding on other calls, that block in the back drives me insane.

I just didn't see the penalty on that one. I agreed with the Pickens one, but didn't think the DJ one was all that.

Someone answers Me this.....Why when a Qb takes off is the offensive line not called for blocking in the back??? Watch 80% of what the OLs do to the DL when a Qb takes off running.

I have wondered about that myself, o-linemen block in the back behind the line of scrimmage regularly.

Taunting penalties don't stop fighting but helmetless football would. Easier to talk sh!t when there's a facemask protecting your teeth.

Oh wait, read this in green if you don't have a sense of humor.

    I don’t care for over-the-top behavior.

I do think one issue is that some of these penalties aren’t being enforced consistently across games or even consistently within the same game.

If we go with the purpose of a penalty is to avoid instigating a fight or avoiding escalation of in-game issues (dirty hits, etc.), then I don’t see why the end zone celebrations or sack celebrations are acceptable. All of these acts have the ability to cause other issues.

ARTICLE 3. ILLEGAL BLOCK BY OFFENSIVE PLAYER
It is a foul if an offensive blocker:
    (2) Blocks an opponent (from behind) in the back above the opponent’s waist, or uses his hands or arms to push an opponent from behind in a manner that affects his movement, except in close-line play.

    SECTION 7 - CLOSE-LINE PLAY
Close-Line Play is contact that occurs in an area extending between the outside edges of the normal tackle positions and three yards on either side of the line of scrimmage.

I'd have to watch it again, but I didn't think that was a block in the back call on Pickens. I thought it was a crack-back block, the newer rule that was created after Hines Ward broke Keith Rivers' jaw.

The only call I hate worse then Taunting, is the hitting a defenseless player when that WR/TE has the football.

Once you catch the ball, the defense should be able to rock your world, even if you don't see them coming.
