Najee ran hard and had some solid runs, good to see. I hope that continues. He still only averaged 3.8 YPC Would like to see Jaylen, who averaged 5.3 YPC, get more than just a handful of carries in a game. He had 6 today. I think we may have it backward. Let’s roll early with Jaylen and try to get the running game established and then bring Najee in at strategic points for a little ground and pound.

Don’t expect a two headed monster from Tomlin.

Warren is a liability as a blocker on pass plays

Najee hangs out at Tomlin's crib too much for that to happen.

He missed one badly today but I think he’s been pretty good overall in that department.

Tomlin refers to his crib as Shade's Cave.

I’ll give him the benefit of the doubt and observe with deliberation

Tomlin's response when asked about how they are used was right. The Steelers need both of them.

Agree. I’d just love to see them give Jaylen enough carries to get into a rhythm and let’s see what he can do with them.

I like Najee, I really do. But he doesn't seem to be able to find open spots and hit them quickly compared to Warren. I want both of them to do well and hope for improvement.

I was on the side of Warren until a fellow fan showed me just what you said. I tend to forget the importance of that with a RB.

I think the Steelers will be fine in the RB situation, once the passing game gets on track. Up to this point opposing Ds have been stacking the box to stop Harris. Both RBs will benefit from a reliable passing attack and I see that coming.

he was not yesterday, was he? I saw him step up a few times and get his assignment right.

our OL is the liability in pass blocking!! LOL. How do you NOT double team Donald regularly?

About time they line Najee up 8 yards back with KP under center and just let him hit the hole on a dead sprint. He is a load once he gets going. He still try to bounce it outside too much. Najee running laterally is a DB’s dream. They need to tell tell Najee do not bounce the ball outside under any circumstance ... I don’t care if the hole isn’t there. Run right up the lineman’s back if the hole isn’t there. That will break Najee of this bad habit and teach the lineman to open up better holes.

That does not look like a liability to me, that looks like an asset. Of course I'm sure that some other guy with too much time on his hands will make a YouTube video about all of Warren's missed blocks, lol. But I think overall he's thought of as a good blocker and someone who does a good job of picking up blitzing linebackers in the passing game. There will always be failures along the way, but Warren is not afraid to go mano a mano.

I think they have a Scat game coming if Mcfarland can get back .. Warren is more of Scat than power RB as well .. It is easier to block for the Scat running game and protect because the route trees are faster routes ... People keep saying that a RB must pass protect to get meaningful snaps ..This is a load of crap KC has a playbook NO has 1 Miami has 1 San Fran has 1 and multiple other Teams use at least some of it almost every game ..

You use the RB as the hot route or you audible to pitch, swing or screen for expected outside blitz .. For expected inside blitz you run draw , shovel pass , or TE dump pass right behind the blitz .. This is just the base set of the Scat game the other is the motion to the slot and the quick passing game not to mention the pony Scat game where you can run power the other above motion to the slot and still have all the same options plus you can leave your bigger RB in and run your entire offense if your other RB'S are good pass catchers ? Which they both are ..

This offense is way less predictable and gives you the ability to run multiple types of attacks and is very confusing to Defenses .. We did it in HS and even motioned or shifted from 3 RB'S to 5 WR'S and everything in between..Tomlin stated years back that we desire to be multiple well this is how you start to approach that ..

You are relentless. I'll give you credit for that.

It still makes no sense. They are having trouble getting Harris and Warren the ball as much as they would like and you think they are going to give some of those snaps to McFarland, who has shown little as a runner in the regular-season, can't block and can't stay healthy. Yes, there are plays that don't require the running back to block, but putting a back out there who can't makes it even easier for the defense to defend. Being more predictable is the last thing the Steelers need.

Part of your argument is that you ran it successfully in high school. Seriously, this is a defense that already correctly earns criticism for looking like a college offense and you want to include stuff because it worked in high school games?
