My thoughts on regular season wk 7

1. Kenny Pickett absolutely has that it factor

2. Matt Stafford is gonna be seeing Alex Highsmith in his sleep

3. Pickens and DJ came up big overall, but please grow the hell up!!!!

4. You can't teach the kind of clutch TJ Watt has

5. Congratulations Nick Herbig on your 1st sack

6. Say what you will about his tackling prowess (or lack thereof), but Joey Porter Jr basically shuts down one side of the field

7. Levi Wallace needs to ride the pine

8. The middle of the defensive front got gouged against the run..... why is Fehoko always inactive

9. Overall, excellent job neutralizing Aaron Donald

10. Good things happen when Najee runs north/south and should be forbidden to go east/west

7 has already happened; James Pierre logging in some snaps during the final 6 mins of the game I believe. Regardless, agree overall with the list!! Regarding number one!!...


Hopefully he can build off of this towards more consistent performances!

 

Does anyone know about pt 8? Is he injured or healthy scratch?

 

Not sure, but I think Cam might be eligible to come off of IR this week if all has gone well.

I actually think Motravious Adams showed up big time today. He flashed on a lot of plays in the first half

I agree with all of it, B&G, great write up. I can’t wait until Cam Heyward comes back and Porter playing and Wallace sitting will fix a lot of problems

 

Pass protection tightened up 2nd half, Pickett played much better. Funny how that works...

That said, and I'm aware i'm contradicting myself somewhat here, he still has to play better first half.

KFP confidence meter nudges back up to 7.

I also can't help thinking going from one back to the other isn't helping either get on a roll.


Heere's the real downer to this team, 4-2 but any time they play anyone good they're gonna get monstered, unless the opposition have a real off day. So far away from being a genuine contender it's scary and I don't really see enough realistic growth this season to be close to that level by the end of the season. Too much ground to make up.

Still that was a very good 2nd half, can they build on it? They have 3 games up coming before we go back in division and they're all winnable, two against very poor teams, neither of whom have an offense. Jax, Thumbtacks, GB - all at home, you could not ask for a more favourable run of game in which to improve and build some momentum.

Let's see what happens, but so far this team isn't passing anyone's smell test.

7. Is my only complaint. Until We have other CBs playing. It's impossible to make Him ride the pine all game. No matter how bad He is. This I why I'm always saying draft CBs, and DBs. Need way more than 2 for a game.
