Time for the Tomlin discussion

17 years in. Last playoff win was in 2016. The 3 after that they got shelled for 40+

But even though I want to see a complete change from dinosaur stale Tomlin and clean house you can't always get what you want.

These threads are played. There are the Tomlin supporters and the ones like myself who believe its time for a change.

Art II is the issue here, he has given to much power to Tomlin. Canada is here because of Tomlin.

I did not want Cowher to leave. Kind of pissed me off.

 

Actually I thought he did a good job. Nothing we didn't know. I think the pretty blue print sucked me in.

 

You don’t realize how good you had it until it’s gone. We are seeing that with Ben being gone now. I fear we could be saying the same about Tomlin on one side but the other side of me is ready for change as r at a bare minimum some accountability on Tomlin and some actual coordinators.

 

Blast fixed the problem and all is now good in the universe

 

The grass isn’t alway greener. Cowher had some brutal seasons1997-2003. The fact is that Cowher and Tomlin were handed the task of going through the greatest QB to ever play the game almost every year. Payton Manning will tell you as well that his career was curtailed by the Brady train. They held the Ravens at bay most years. You may not like it and you may say it shouldn’t matter but it is a fact. Ask Ernie Els, Phil Mickelson and others what happens when you play in an era with a GOAT.

 

Art II was constantly saying that he wanted the running attack to be addressed. So I can see him wanting a 1st round pick as a savior of the running attack. So Harris was his call i'm sure. I also think that Pickett was high on his mind due to the snubbing of Dan Marino.

 

Let Tomlin stay until he has a losing season. Make it a stipulation. The minute. you have a losing season YOU----are --------out --------of here.Because what he has done is an accomplishment.

Regarding the Kenny Pickett pick, wouldn't it also be fair to assume that AR II might have played some role in the hiring of Matt Canada given how he was a Coach at Pitt?! Canada also played a part in attempting to recruit Kenny out of High School... so there are clues there in terms of familiarity.

Sticking up for the Silver guy is not a good look.
If you have some balance and are rational when it comes to criticism and praise of the team you’re going to fare well. If you drive everyone nuts with constant negativity and repetitive nonsense people are going to react.

Who's the bully in the equation, the person repeatedly hijacking threads and attacking those attempting to have a rational discussion, or those that call them out on it?

 

It’s really not worth commenting on anymore. I just saw everyone piling on one individual and felt bad for the guy but your right I don’t know the history of it so better off not commenting anymore on it.

And again most are skipping over the fact that even though many have called McVay a genius coach.....Tomlin owns him.

 

Everyone keeps discussing if ownership had any role in the coordinators. You better believe they do, no one runs a billion dollar organization without having a say in every aspect of the business. Jerry does it in public. Most do not. They may say that he is free to hire whoever, and he can as long as they agree and he listened to the signals they put out.
