Geeez didn't even realize Witherspoon was doing that well.

 

That's his thing isn't it? He plays well enough that he gains interest from teams then goes there plays lights out for a season or average in the Steelers case , then does nothing to keep his job or really anything to lose it and moves on. I'd venture to guess his rating and season begin to turn sour before turkey day.

 

I mean toe-tapping a KO on the sideline is a lost art!

 

Coming back to haunt their teams. Steven Nelson Int in Houston, Witherspoon Int in Los Angeles?

It was a face palm when Colbert just let Nelson go without even asking him to take a pay cut. At least that is the story Nelson gave when the Steelers cut him.

 

I thought it was he couldn't stay healthy. Great first season. Injured his hamstring, came back slow, and then re-injured it before being put IR.

 

pretty sure he wasn't asked to take a paycut because he said before hand I'm not taking a paycut.

 

i thought i said we should keep witherspoon? hope i can't say we should have kept king too.

 

He's on my list. Kicker Kris Brown and Punter Josh Miller rank above him.

I will never understand why Cowher hung on to Brown and Miller for so long. Kris Brown was awful. Miller had flashes of being a decent Punter, and flashes of pure stupidity. He was an awful holder.

There was a lot of things that went wrong during the 2001 AFCC. But those two jabronis played a big factor in the loss. The blocked field goal, and the punt that was booted to the opposite side of coverage pretty much sealed the loss.

It was one of those things we blame Tomlin for. It was obvious that kicking/punting was a problem that year. Cowher did nothing about it. It ended the season of one of my favorite Steelers teams. The 2001 Big Nasty D Steelers.

 

Both went to different teams later and were "MONEY"
