I am both excited and intrigued personally. Excited because perhaps this could be Darius Rush's chance to not just earn himself a spot for good on the Steelers Roster moving forward beyond 2023 but also potentially eliminates the prospect of the team drafting another Corner high in the draft; Round One even. Again, this is all under the premise that Darius Rush can develop. Furthermore, this also tells me that Levi Wallace's days are more numbered than I initially thought. I knew he would be gone after the year as his contract expires but the mere fact that adding a Rookie from the Pre Draft Process tells me that maybe both Tomlin and Austin could opt to fast track that possibility.

Now, I am also intrigued for this could also mean Cory Trice Jr. may not be progressing as well. Remember that he tore his ACL at the end of OTAs; the process to heal such an injury is roughly nine months minimum. While it is possible that the team added Rush to get rid of King as they said, it is also possible the team did so in the event that Cory Trice Jr. could have a misstep in the recovery process.

Overall, quite the bit of news that I wanted!! I remember him being off Indy's Squad after Preseason. Bounced around after that; something I found to be odd. Perhaps this time will benefit him in the long run. Maybe Patrick Peterson can assist him a bit.

I think it's a little early to form an opinion on Trice's recovery. He needs more time to even guess at his recovery status.

ACL Injuries can be tricky; doubly so if they are repeat cases such as his. For that matter, the circumstances tilt against him due to the continually trauma that his ligaments and tendons have gone through since his days in college. If looking at the fact of Cory Trice being able to contribute ever again is bring extrapolated here... I agree; way too early to tell.

However, to say that Cory Trices injury history didn't play a role in the acquisition of Darius Rush isn't early at all in my opinion. As cruel as this will sound, the NFL is a Business; a business primarily focused on winning. One man's misfortune is another's opportunity; a Tomlin quote that has been proven time and time again.

Should Darius make it on the team?! It is fair to assess what will become of Cory Trice Jr. heading into 2024.

I don't disagree with any assertion you made. His injury history was why he was available so late to begin with.

He is slow, always has been. I bet old man Peterson would beat him in a footrace. I had no idea why he would willingly return kicks he never made it to the 25.

Well, there's a reason you can pick up players like this during the season.....

Odds are, he's not going to contribute. Heavy odds. Of course, there are always the rare exception, but they are anomalous.

    • Struggles to match release due to elongated steps.
    • Gives ground when chasing vertical routes.
    • Below average stop-start fluidity.
    • Hip tightness prevents smooth transitions.
    • Unable to hang with multi-breaking routes.

I take some of that with a grain of salt. Go back and read the scouting reports on Antonio Brown. They are comically wrong.

That said, that the Colts gave up on a fifth-round pick so quickly is not a good sign.

Boy I hope he develops fast and we can get Wallace' tail off the field. Burrow will make a joke of that guy twice this year, etc.
