Cannot believe they tried to go for it that deep in their own territory and not play for OT at Home! Ben hasn't been the same since his injury. I sincerely hope Haley is gone next year, it's obvious the he and Ben are NOT on the same page and Tomlin NEVER wanted Haley hired, so what does that say about Tomlin and the Rooney's??? He's gotta go even though Ben lost the last two games with end of the game picks!

You want to get rid of Haley even though Ben was playing at an MVP level when he was buying into Haley's program, and that we only started losing once Ben resorted back to his sandlot style of play?

If Ben and Haley aren't on the same page then Ben needs to be told to get on whatever page Haley is on. Haley is the OC, he doesn't need to bend to make Ben happy, Ben needs to do what he's told and to follow the program. If Ben isn't listening, then he can go as far as I'm concerned. Ben is a spoiled idiot. He's bought with 2 out of 3 OC's now and butted heads with Cowher as well. Ben pouts when he doesn't get his way. I'd much rather dump Ben than Haley.

So who do you really think is in control in GreenBay, New England or Denver? If you think the OC, you are wrong! The simple fact that Tomlin, the head coach was not even consulted and did not want the hire should tell you something. Wake the hell up! This ofense absolutely sucks with all of this talent! WOW!

Yeah, i'm starting to think that Ben thinks he is bigger than this team. Granted he has won us some great games but the last two weeks he has failed when we needed him most. Ben needs to come back down to earth and play within the system Haley has put in place. He's probably still mad about BA being let go and seeing what BA has pulled off in Indy. But he needs to know that BA is NOT coming back and he can quit holding his breath.

Who is in charge? The head coaches are in charge, just like Tomlin is in charge in Pittsburgh. Did Tomlin want Haley? Probably not, he wanted to keep BA, that should tell you that the Rooney's don't have a ton of confidence in Tomlin to do what's necessary. Wake the hell up, if the Rooney's had confidence in Tomlin he would have been allowed to make his own decisions

Thats right, lets change the OC again and be like the rest of the NFL. If it doesnt work perfectly in the 1st year.. scrape it and start over. OC didnt drop the ball, didnt fumble the ball, didnt throw the int, he didnt go out there and injure all the players. Glad you dont run the team!!

Were you saying that after week 7 when Ben was having an MVP type season in Haley's offence?

I have a feeling the best Ben performances are in the rear view mirror. He will have good games in the next few years but he is getting older and his body has taken a lot of damage. His atheltic ability carried him early on but is fading. When he ran today it looked like you could time him in the 40 with a calendar rather than a stop watch. If there isn't a system he buys into that will fit his abilities as he ages the rest of his career will be average with some bright spots.

Ben would benefit from a strong consistent running game.

How bout them giving up on Haley way too early?

Are they kidding or what. He is in his first year as a Steelers OC and people think that he should work magic with a QB that doesn't stand on the sideline and communicate strategies.
Look at Manning, Both of them. Brady, Rogers and even Rivers go over pictures, still shots, reading what defenses are doing and try to adjust. Ben Has only done this a handful of times. Why? Because it's all the same to him. Call any play and we will try and adjust during the play if it breaks down. Not try and exploit what they are doing right now with the next series of plays.

Why would the Rooney's give Tomlin a new contract if they didn't have any confidence in him?

I don't understand why Tomlin doesn't know his kickers limits? That was the second time he pushed Suisham to his limits and failed.

You can't criticize Haley on this board. It'd be like entering the Branch Davidian complex and trying to convince its members David Koresh was insane. This group jumps on one topic, everybody gets on board, and they just run with it. Haley doesn't fit this organization. We should quickly recognize it and move on. We have had TWO franchise quarterbacks in 80 years (unless you want to count Bobby Layne) and these knuckleheads want to get rid of one of them (even though he is openly uncomfortable with what he is being asked to do).

    Thisboard fascinates me.

I don't necessarily think they should have tried for overtime, but I think that if they were going to try anything, they needed to take a shot downfield. Try to get a pass interference or, heaven forbid, complete a deep pass. To try any sort of short to intermediate passing could only result in disaster.

BA was fired because of the offense's underperformance. Todd Haley's offense looked good to start the season but stumbled the latter part of the season when Ben decided to go back to his sandlot ways that was tolerated and encouraged under BA. Who is the common bond in all all of this? I'll give you a hint. He has a clock named after him in London. :hmmm:

Unfortunately, Ben has done anything BUT play sandlot football. If Ben was free to be Ben this season, I think we'd be playing in January.

I understand your need to defend Haley though -- being his biggest supporter.

I was (and still am) a Haley supporter. I was the first on this board to call for his hiring. Thanks for paying attention.

Now, can we talk about how Ben can improve his game? His physical dominance will only go so far and I think those days are gone. He MUST become a more cerebral and well-studied QB. He needs to realize that Todd Haley can help prolong his career and make him more successful. The opposite is also true. Ben can make Haley more successful. I think they BOTH need to realize that over the offseason for the good of not only the two of them, but also the team.

    Glad you read my posts!
