When I saw the Gruden rumor I knew it was a non-starter. He runs a West Coast system and we still run the The Erhardt-Perkins System. You do not make that change mid season.

Add to that this guy made some racist, bigoted emails towards NFL leadership and many other people and it adds to him probably never being part of an NFL organization for the rest of his life.

I can't believe people think that it would be a good idea to bring Gruden in.

The team needs fresh, young, innovative people. Not old, washed up egomaniacs with baggage.

 

I don't use the words homophobic nor misogynistic because I haven't had the full instruction on their implications. Mostly when I hear them I view them as a who-smelt-it-dealt-it thing from the victim mindset. I'm sure not defending Gruden cuz I don't know what he actually said, and trying to find out what was actually said in those emails is impossible. The press hides the ball. They just slap on the labels and run away. But I do think Gruden is the last thing we need in Pittsburgh for the same reasons I don't want JuJu, Chase or AB around. It would be too much about Gruden and not enough about football.As for Goodell, if I saw him at the car show his afternoon there's about an even up chance I'd call him a wus cuz that's what he is.

 

As for misogynistic, I still wear the button on my bike leather that says I am an advocate for women. And I am. As for homophobic, my sister-used-to-be-my-brother is transgender and it doesn't scare me even a little bit.

 

West Coast offense has just never been the Steelers thing. I think that's why they let Josh Dobbs go. You could build a good west coast offense around that guy. But the great thing about the AFC North is when a team goes there, they may win, they may lose, but they're going to lose next week cuz they got beat up.

 

As long as we're talking about former head coaches who will never be offensive coordinator in Pittsburgh, if there's one out there I'd like to see it's Bruce Ariens. I can sum that up in three words: aggressive play calling.

I don't know if there is a friendship between Gruden and Tomlin like everyone is assuming there is from their Tampa Days.

I may be misremembering everything, but I could have sworn that when Tomlin was on Ben's podcast he said he regrets staying in Tampa Bay and not going with Tony Dungy to Indianapolis.
