Execution!!!

Other teams watch film and they actually know what they are looking at. They recognize tendencies and are able to diagnose plays. The more formations and plays they recognize, the less success the offense has. It is really that simple.

This has been going on since football has been played. Some offenses are better than others and they are more diverse in their formations and motions so that defenses have a difficult time picking up what play is coming or who is getting the ball.

Maybe the plays or schemes isn’t all that bad, perhaps it’s the play picked at the particular time that is bad. For instance the 4th and 1. At least if you’re gonna call shot gun, I’m sure you can run a quick slant.

if I was calling a play on the 4th and 1, First option would have been the qb sneak, 2nd option would have been a play action and then hit a quick slant.

If KFP is struggling make it simple for him. Call plays that gets the ball out of his hands in 2-3 seconds. Keep doing that and other options will open up.

The offense has two big problems that are not going to be solved. The scheme which is Canada and the other problem is the QB. He is inaccurate and cant hit wide open wrs. Neither is going to be solved this year so 8-9 is best win total we can hope for. As far as execution goes....I am all in favor of it for the oc.

Its not the Packers glory days where Lombardi would admit we are only going to run a select few plays but we will run them till we run them perfectly.

We do not currently have a dominant offensive line we cannot just impart our will on them.

Maybe just a few tweeks like not running 83% of the time the QB is under center or maybe not passing 83% of the time he is in shot gun.

How about something wild like throwing slants and crossing routes it has to be easier to complete a pass when the receiver is 8 yards in front of the QB.

Some have said Pickett doesn't progress through his reads fast enough maybe give him more to see than Robinson short right Pickens deep down the sideline also on the right and whoever else is on 4 yd out way over on the left. Use the freaking TE once in a while and how about a check down to someone who is past the LOS .

this is because Pickett can’t hit the WRs with passes, so less opportunity to drop.

 

He and Tomlin seem to be oblivious to the offensive ineptitude when it’s obvious to everyone else.
