What do you want to see during the Bye

Besides firing Canada what is important for you during this Bye

For me not only do I want to see guys get healthy, but I especially don’t want any new phantom injuries.

See to it that Broderick Jones and Joey Porter Jr. are starting for the remainder of the season; doubly so in the case of Jones. Need to let those two take their lumps and experience the highs and lows of being an NFL player. That will aide in their development.


Change up the Defensive Game Plan a bit. For starters, get Minkah back to playing that Deep Middle foe he shines brilliantly at that spot. Moving him around is okay but to maximize his capabilities, have him there. Desmond King II needs more playing time on that note as well. Chandon Sullivan offers little to nothing for his performance has shown us he does little to nothing.


Big form of change that I want?! Will Diontae Johnson and Cameron Heyward please return?!?! That would be the best news!

 

I’d like to see DJ get healthy and be ready to go in two weeks.

 

Time for JPjr to assume a full time role. The kid just has "IT".

Defensive communication needs greatly improved. The talent is there but communication, particularly in the secondary has been below the line.

I very much doubt Matt Canada will be fired. I am hoping DJ is healthy and can begin practicing. Having him back will help the offense tremendously. Same goes for Muth.

I think Warren needs a larger slice of the pie than Najee. He is heads and tails the better back right now.

Tough stretch of games coming up. I'm hoping if the Steelers can button a few things up they can go on a run.

 

Beyond what others have said, I want updates on DJ. Whats his status? When is he looking to return? The team could really use his route running, separation, and the way he opens things up for the rest of the team.

 

I think this week is the first week he is eligible to come off of IR and practice. Hopefully they will announce something soon.

 

Can anyone else on this team play Center? Could Daniels do it with Moore to LG and Seumalo to RG? Or something else? Cole has been really bad.

 

I was going to add if the team could opt to get Ryan McCollum into the starting lineup. However, I don't expect this to happen at all.

Consistency. This team lacks it. Getting some inured, nicked up players back in the fold.

Key on getting Pickett to Pickens more of a reality early and often. Stop running into 8 man fronts! Allow Pickett to change the play ( in which I believe he did on the Pickens game winning TD watching Jet Sweep looking surprised in the booth)

 

You hit it on the head with health. Sure would like to see the tackling improve but I'm not sure how you address that mid-season.

 

1) DJ to be healthy - do we know if he is on track? I have been plenty critical but he is still Kenny's favorite and that has helped to set us back this year on O.
2) same sort of for 88 - will he be rested and ready?
3) It's Jones at LT - don't care if Dan Moore is dancing this AM. Move him to RT, if need be. But Jones IS the LT for now and the next 10+ years.
4) Porter needs to start. You don't LEARN sitting on the bench and 5-10 plays a week. This kid has been playing CB since he was 7. START HIM and start to create more SPARK and SWAGGER with this D.
5) I'd fire Austin and Canaduh - they both suck, but that is a given. We SCREWED UP letting Flores out the door and instead, holding onto Austin. Blame MT and Rooney.
6) Move Jaylen to starter. MAYBE it lights a fire in Najee, although I am not sure there is anything more there than we have seen.
7) Make sure Kenny watches LOTS of film. See that he can stay in the pocket, or step up in the pocket. Have your 2 read ready on each pass play, and know where your checkdown is if you have to bail. AND YOU CAN RUN IF YOU NEED TO!

maybe McFarland will be healthy ..The poor line blocking actually fits the faster quicker RB'S so if he gets back he needs some packages as the Offense still has very few splash plays

We need DJ back ASAP. Does anyone know the results of Austin's injury? And when will Muth return? During the second half yesterday we had a hodgepodge collection of receivers on the field. After Pickens we had to go with Robinson, Gunner and Miles Boykin. Despite that the Ravens were dumb enough to just have single coverage on Pickens during the most important part of the game. Thank you Harbaugh for another gift.

I would like the Steelers to take some time to install some QB roll out plays like Washington used to do with Theismann with a pulling guard in front of him. I think Pickett would do well with those.
