I don't know about that one, but I know He called a Audible to Pickens earlier in the game, and they were off the page on that one. I mentioned it during the game thread, but nobody else said anything.

I’m thinking either that wasn’t the play he called, or he was so surprised that what he called worked that it stunned him into a stupor. Neither is a good thing…

Well u can't undermine a coach. He could possibly say it was an audible they practiced with pads on

Reminds of the time in summer league baseball when the coach, who also coached 3rd base, said "nice bunt" as I was rounding the bases after hitting one over the left field wall, lol.

Regardless of what happened, he didn't even get excited at us scoring. He's a petty little man and hopefully it was because he knows he's out.

Sometimes, I'm not the sharpest. I was sitting here, watching that strange reaction of Canada watching the TD and thought to myself, "Man. what an odd reaction. I wonder what makes that guy tick to react in such a way to such a huge play. He must be an odd bird." It never even crossed my mind that he didn't call the play. Now it seems obvious that that is what indeed happened. Nothing else explains his reaction.

I wouldn't read too much into it.. not defending him, I want him gone.. but it was probably a reaction of relief knowing an entire city wants you fired. Have you guys ever watched coaches in hockey? Their teams scores a goal and you'd think someone just punched their mother.

I agree, and it's he's proven he shows a reaction after a touchdown. Last year, early in the season if I remember correctly, they were down in the red zone and they scored with some shifty type play. They showed him up in the booth going nuts, slapping the glass and whatnot. I remember some commenting in the game day thread at the time.

No doubt it was the game plan. I don't believe that is what is being questioned here by itself.

    Question remains... who's exactly?!

Canada should be the obvious answer. However, Tomin had stated weeks ago that it is a Coaching Decision to do so; not the players. Mind you, Coaching, in this context, is a broad term; made more so interesting via Mike Sullivan's background. It wouldn't surprise me if Sullivan had a part in it.

I know this on Twitter but do we know for certain this was showing him after the Td? They showed him earlier and was wondering if someone just edited the video

Yes, the left handed TD pass by Clayfool. Canada was so proud of himself that he nearly tore the booth apart.

    There's definitely something to this.

I think it looked like he was in some form of shock and PTSD.

And I’m not joking. The guy must be feeling tons of extra pressure. I actually feel a little bad for him even though I drag him often with the best of us.

At this point it’s not his fault that his bosses keep him employed and strapped to an incredibly slow dipping death device like an old James Bond movie that was referenced in Austin Powers. The blame is equally on the three who have the power to relieve the pusstule - Rooney - Kahn - Tomlin.

Don’t ever expect replies with the amount of comments and speed of the game. A comment becomes old news by the time you hit the POST button.

I think I had some doozies today that got no love. This is the business we’ve chosen.

That was the first time that I didn’t care if we succeeded or not. The most beneficial thing to do would be to call the safest play that would chew up time.

They need to develop a few of those to have readily available. Like a slow developing qb sneak or something.

Anyone here ever see the high school football movie from the early 80’s that takes place just outside of Pittsburgh in Western PA with Tom Cruise called “All the Right Moves”?

I keep thinking of what the community drunken hooligans do to the coaches house after the loss will pay a visit to Canada.

I want him gone as much as anyone, but maybe he was just mad that Pickens didn’t go down on the 1-yard line or run across the field along the 1 and then go down?

That way they could have eaten the clock, kicked the FG and never given the ball back to Jackson?

Total speculation by me because it was a weird reaction.

No, it’s not been edited. We saw it on live tv. He looked like he dropped his last french fry in the dirt.
