It took an injury to get Jones in. He played excellent today so another coaching bumbling. Najee just doesn't explode into hole or doesn't have good vision! Great summary!!

The Ravens' mistakes were why the Steelers won? I guess that means the Steelers played mistake-free today. Any chance the Steelers caused the Ravens to make some of those mistakes?

That basically sums up Officiating since the new CBA in 2020. Granted... 2015-2019 was pretty bad; even ugly in the case of the New Orleans and Los Angeles Rams playoff game but the past three seasons have been horrid.

I thought that was an odd reaction. As if nothing happened, good or bad.

As I said in another thread... perhaps Mike Sullivan has overtaken his play calling duties?! The reaction alone is one thing but the aspects of that drive (what I saw in highlights anyways) seemed to indicate so.

I gonna nitpick here but how come the guy attempting to recover the blocked punt doesn't bat the ball backwards vs diving scoop out of bounds?? Did anyone else think that or am I being to harsh on that??

I think you're being a little tough. He was literally a couple inches from getting his elbows down in bounds for a touchdown. That stuff happens so quickly when you are playing. I thought it was a real heads-up play and almost an incredible play.

Have you ever played organized football ? Where everything happens instantly
And you might not have time to react the way you might sitting on a couch.

Obvious things are obvious... but not so much to a bad coaching staff:

    1. Kenny will be just fine if you give him protection and some open receivers
    2. TJ Watt is the best Defensive player in the NFL
    3. Jones is our best OL and should have been starting from Day 1
    4. Porter is our best CB and should have been starting from Day 1
    5. RBBC will always will be the best approach
    6. NFL officiating is completely terrible
    7. Pickens is a super star
    8. Matt Canada should be coaching a high school team somewhere
    9. Lamar Jackson will never win a super bowl
    10. The Roberts, Holcomb, Alexander changes in the middle have played well

I prefaced it, but like in baseball before every play you say where do I go with the ball if its hit to me. If you are going for a blocked kick then perhaps you say if it looks like its going out the back of the endzone bat it backwards. I get it **** happens fast but do you plan for every scenario as a special teams group. I know the grenades are coming but that's what I would do as a special teams coach, think of every scenario.

I never want to hear again how Harris should be the lead back. Just cause they wasted a first rd pick on a 4th rd Rb, should not be held against the undrafted guy.

He has it all over Harris.

Bingo on number 1, that's what I thought today, a few times the receivers got separation and he got time he made the throw. Bingo #3, Bingo #4, Bing #6. Well done my man!!

Crazy fun morning that I almost had an asthma attack and I don't have asthma.

Baltimore really kept the Steelers in this game, which allowed the Steelers to make the plays to win.

Pleased with the dubb heading into the bye week. There's a ton to work on still, but there's some sense of a foundation.

I guess you missed last week, when Harris was their best player and the primary reason they got back in the game before the 4th-and-1 debacle. Harris is the lead back, but they do have to be willing to adapt in games like today’s, when Warren’s skills were a better fit.

Harris was awesome last week. Warren was awesome this week.

What we need is for the OL to come together and block much better and much more consistently. We also need a much better and cohesive game plan and better play calling with some improved concepts. We hopefully get Kenny Pickett playing with a much better understanding of what he needs to do, and the team gets healthy and he gets his weapons back.

If and when that happens, both these guys are going to do damage and we are lucky to have them both. I think it's silly to say we have to pick one. I like when they use both running backs and share the load. They have different skillsets and different styles that give defenses more things to worry about. Just let it continue to play out.

You mean the run, where they had both Najee, and Warren on the field .

I was shocked to watch the game and then go to the stat sheet and Naj only had 37 yards on all those attempts.

I’m thinking we need a run coordinator, Canada can draw up some passes, but he isn’t the guy to bring back the second coming of Cower Paher.

    Great recap, blackandgoldpatrol!

Watt and Highsmith are something else and the rookies looked good today.

Flag must have fell out of his pocket. Did he looked surprised he challenged the call? I didn't see the game, so no way of knowing.
