Stephen A: Steelers are a hot mess

He's not wrong. Neither are Ryan Clark or Shannon Sharpe.

Tomlin has brought us to being nothing short of an embarrassing joke. What a mess. Fans need to revolt.

Stephen A (while he is not wrong) is annoying beyond belief…….start every topic with a soft soft whisper and gradually raise your voice and then shout it like you’re contacting someone for help all the way across the Grand Canyon. Turn topic over to Marble Mouth Shannon Sharpe for his meaningless take on the subject then finally hit up the man of reason Ryan Clark for his intelligent input. ESPN is nothing but a clown show. They should have MT and MC on as special guests to clarify why they still have coaching jobs in the NFL.

 

I will never forget Stephen A roasting Linsanity during his time with the Knicks when the Knicks actually played like a team vs standing around watching Carmelo and Carmelo was pouting about how much attention Lin was getting. There was ball movement and excitement for the Knicks (who I hate anyway, I hate all NY teams since moving here from Western, PA) and I watched some of those games. He rallied to defend Carmelo and just killed Lin saying he was no point guard and shouldn't even be on the floor. It was so transparent and predictable. He won't crush Tomlin until it becomes beyond obvious, like 2-15 obvious. He tip toed around him yesterday on that spot by saying Tomlin isn't blameless essentially (we love Mike Tomlin) and then admittedly gave him **** for hiring him and retaining him. But he had to start by saying we love Mike Tomlin (why that's relevant) to avoid some of the criticism that comes when anyone really criticizes Tomlin.

 

Sure, everyone sees it now, but you'd get very strong disagreement from many for saying it in recent seasons. The Steelers have been a hot mess for a long time. Ben covered it all up with street ball heroics. Even that 11-0 start had bright, flashing, warning signs. Deuce simply will NOT move on from Tomlin. 3-in-55 is the standard, not accountability, strong play, or competing for championships. Thankfully, at least Colbert, with his many serious draft mistakes, is gone. The coordinators, and most coaches, have been absolutely terrible here for years. Everyone needs to go at season's end, including the false football prophet HC. I think we'll see Canada go, Austin may go depending on his contract, but Mike will come back unless he "retires" by some miracle. It will simply never get better until there are massive coaching changes, starting at the top.

 

This is not a board for political commentary. Take those opinions elsewhere please.

I think that guy will have lost all use of his vocal cords by 60.

The talking heads get clicks.. be it for stating the obvious and blowing it out of proportion or making it up as they go to stir controversy.
It's clicks.

But be it as it is, Mike Tomlin has allowed a splinter to infect and now the team has cancer.
This bodes well for buzzards like Stephen Smith.

I didn't see a need to allow Canada to stay another season, sure they came on strong but even so, they weren't Super Bowl Caliper.
At best the 2022 Steelers were just salvaging their jobs and showing some toughness.
Probably hoping for a new OC at the very least.

I don't know the who pulls the strings that allow a coach to play out his contract.
By the end of 2022 we had witnessed Canada's best efforts and everyone knew that was a good as gets from him which is far short of expectations.
There's also something to be said for hiring within.
But to be successful in that approach, you have to have good coaches passing the torches. In Pittsburgh, the well ran dry on offense.

The Steelers cannot look internally for the next OC.
They have to bring in outside help.

In the meantime, Stephen A and the likes can kick the dead horse around and be right.
It's hard to be wrong on this one.
