what has become of Pat Freiermuth

I can not figure out what has become of him. Has he become a cancer to the team? What has caused him to play so poorly? Is he going to get the big contract next year?

 

He's probably fed up with the crappy offense, and having to stay in to block.

 

he's become the next Chase Claypool? fire sale? wonder if we could get another steal like we did with Claypool trade? 3rd round pick?

 

hope to see more Darnell Washington, I like his reception and smashing into the defender yesterday.

 

According to Dk on one of his podcasts that shot muth took a couple weeks back did some damage to his chest. Said it hurts to breathe or something to that effect. If he’s in so much pain he’s half assimg it then He needs to sit. the team should sign gentry off the bungles practice squad. He was never a great in-line blocker, but so far this season he’s been terrible at it.

 

I think we need to move on from him, the way he gets hurt he has maybe 3 more years in the league.

I would offer my opinion as to why he and virtually every other talented offensive skill player we have has regressed, but it would stir up the Canadians.

 

He tore up his hammy this week. Also he is most effective out of slot but Canada doesn't line him up there anymore

This is by design. If Tomlin wanted to get Pat in the game they'd make him the primary read or #2. Kenny can barely find his primary target let alone find other targets. The game is too fast for him and he cant sense pressure. A good coach would have taught kenny this …. Or kenny isn’t good enough.

I suspect this is Canada’s idea to help develop Kenny. Make him look to the WR’s vs the easy way out of TE’s and RB’s. This is what Ben meant when he said the coaches are not doing Ken any favors.

 

I’ve never understood why teams play these guys who are obviously hurting the team. If they’re that injured get the heck out of there.

 

This. He got busted up in the 49ers game with his ribs. Before this injury, DK was saying he can barely speak in the locker room because of his chest injuries.

It would be nice to see him sit this game and the bye week to try and get healthy again. Something tells me if they would have kept Gentry, Muth would have been able to get healthy after the 49ers game.

 

I would bet a significant number of players under report their injuries. They’re trying to get paid and sitting at home doesn’t help their cause.

His level of play has been below the bar, at least as far as what we are used to seeing. Injury or not he needs to get it together.

 

And to think we passed on Humphreys for this guy. Oh, but we drafted Green for OC instead. Great call Colbert, way to screw that up.

On the plus side, the numbers on his upcoming contract are going down with every game.

 

Any evidence? You watch the games? Try looking at the stats. They speak for themselves. How many attempted passes were to Pat so far? If you're watching it's pretty clear Kenny's primary targets are rarely the TE's so far.
