I imagine this is probably wishful thinking and I understand why they tried to let Pickett work through his issues but I am really hoping they don't do the same with Mitch or Mason. If they choose one or the other to start I hope they get a quick hook if they're mucking it up.

The fellow Steeler fans I BS with all think that scenario with Marino was on their mind. I did not know anything about Pickett until we drafted him. Probably 10 minutes after the pick I got a ton of text saying the Steelers didn't want another Marino incident in the future. I had no idea about Pickett but the guys who followed NCAA football said, "Bad Pick".

I certainly hope the front office didn't think that way when drafting. I know so many who thought that, me included. I can just imagine this board if we passed on him and he was tearing it up with another team;)

That would be a tough call for all involved. I've seen the greats muck up a whole half. Got to give whoever we throw in a chance to work it out at least for a half and hope to hell our D is spot on. This could be a nightmare for Mike. We are at home and the natives seem to be restless. Should it be bad, Mike might not come out of the tunnel to start the second half.

You're not wrong, I suppose I should have made it more clear that I didn't necessarily mean pull a guy for a few bad throws or a bad series. Just not let them tread water for a full game or two without at least giving the other guy a shot. I mean, let's be honest. At this point we're just grasping at a life raft hoping to stay afloat.

Pickett needs to play when healthy so that the Steelers can get the truest evaluation on him as possible. If he continues to struggle, let him struggle. If he had the great physical tools like a Bradshaw, or great mental processing like a Brees then I would give him more time. Currently we see both are average at best, so do not waste 4 years on the guy, if you can get one of the top QBs in the draft.
