I get that everybody is angry. I'm angry. That doesn't mean we need to pull this nonsense again. He does not care? How would you know that?

No fire in his belly? What do you expect him to do? Run down to the sideline and start screaming at Tomlin?

Just because his approach does not agree with yours does not mean he does not care.

What significant changes can they make? Tomlin isn't going to resign in the middle of the season. He could fire Canada and Austin. They were thoroughly overmatched yesterday. I'm not sure that fixes things, but it is a step in the right direction.

They don't have many choices with personnel. Their choices could become more limited depending on the health status of Pickett, Freiermuth, Moore, and Leal. They could all be out for a while. It is past time to make Porter a starter over Peterson or Wallace. Maybe start Benton. Bench Roberts for Alexander or Robison.

What can you do on offense? People were clamoring for Warren to start over Harris, but that makes no sense. Harris was the best player they had on the field yesterday and Warren fumbled twice. They aren't making a change there. Pickett's knee is going to force them to go to Trubisky for a while, but I'm not sure that is a positive. Maybe the reset will help Pickett, but I doubt he will get any better as long as Canada is calling the plays and the line isn't protecting him.

Rearranging the chair of the titanic AFTER it hit the iceberg. The season was over the second that OC Canada was kept to mentor Kenny P. Plus, the second we put that crap o-line and D rated quarterback to start. Tell me what team has been this awful at offense for three years and 4 games. BLOW up the whole thing and get a offensive head coach. Watch Howell and CJ shows you how much coaching matters on offense. Houston is a lousy fb team but school the 4 th best d in the league. Meanwhile the steelers barely hit positive yardage in first quarter. Move on

It shows that he is following in the family tradition of being loyal to coaches. He saw that approach work with Cowher, who went through some rough stretches before finally winning a Super Bowl, and he is emulating it. That isn't not caring. It is making a poor decision.

Yup. Steelers used to at least be competitive when they lost. Now they get crushed.

We suck, they’ll crush us! (For you long standing board members)

He wouldn't need a reason to run down the sideline screaming at Tomlin if Tomlin wasn't there. JMO>

Wow...that is depressing. But mark it down. Rooney will give Mike Tomlin a long-term contract extension before next season. Rooney is a pompous, smug, arrogant, miserly skinflint who is a disgrace to the memory of his father and grandfather.

Didn't change last year when he had a chance in season.
    Didn't change in off season.

Does anyone actually believe he'll change? If so, why?

Again, that is about his choices, not whether he cares or not. My issue is with the nonsense about him not caring. Just because he doesn't make the decision you want doesn't mean he doesn't care.

This morning, I'm ready for them to move on from Tomlin and the rest of the staff. That may be my frustration talking, but seeing them them thoroughly outmatched by a first-year head coach is a good argument to send Tomlin packing.

But this is a decade old sense of frustration, it wasn't just yesterday. Tomlin's message has grown stale. His cliches are nothing more than that, there is no substance behind them. The results we've had are abysmal. The team has crapped the bed at crucial points a countless number of times over the last 10+ years. You can usually tell within the first half of the first quarter that the team is not ready. It's the head coach's job to have the team prepared. Tomlin needs an exceptional offensive mind as his offensive coordinator, instead he decided to remain with the joke of the OC that we currently have even though there was more than enough reason to let him go in the off-season. Maybe it was Rooney who didn't want to cut bait because he didn't want to be paying two offensive coordinators. That's just the Steelers way. It's time for a change. Noll's time came and went. Cowher's time came and went. Tomlin's time has come and gone.

Hell, I was calling for that change at the end of the 2018 season. He helped prop the team up the last few seasons and he might be able to straighten this team out enough to be mediocre, but I don't disagree with you. The Steelers were not prepared to play that game. They had no life at the start. They may have had a plan, but it was nowhere near as good as the plans the Texans had. That shouldn't happen against a rookie coach who took over one of the worst teams in the league.

Agree, no one knows what anyone is feeling or thinking unless you're married to them and even then, ifs iffy. And I do share your frustration along with a lot of SNation. What amplifies our situation is we pretty well know this frustration is entering deaf ears and MT is just the tip of the iceberg as far as i am concerned. Will we have another scenario where we sink to a level that won't qualify for post season but finished the season strong and we repeat the process all over again? JMO>
