I never understood wasting a potential good thing to happen. Worst case, an interception, with that deep probably doesn't hurt. Best case - complete or PI, and then can maybe score. Why take a knee? I guess a bad snap or and fumble would be worse, but take a chance.

 

Any chance if Ike returns next week? It would be nice to have two good DB's back there

 

A friend of mine was in the pisser for both the Randel El TD pass in SB 40 and the Harrison return 3 years later in SB 43. Anytime I watch a game with him and the Steelers need a big play, I tell him to go to the bathroom.

 

This is a gutsy defense. They've been without play makers and big plays all year long and are down below the bottom of the cornerback barrel. They've been at a significant disadvantage in terms of field position and they've done a good job keeping points off the board.

 

Teams almost never throw a hail mary to end a half. It's almost unheard of.

 

Must be a good reason.

 

Strip sack fumble or a pick with a decent return is an automatic field goal try maybe even 7 points. Too much risk. Especially with this offense.

 

Well Ben would have had to throw a 90 yard bomb, which isn't possible. A catch and run isn't going to happen in such a scenario as the Bengals will be in full prevent. It's a risk/reward thing, and the risk far outweights the very unlikely reward

 

Worst case is a strip/sack/fumble that deep in your own territory. With 18 seconds and no timeouts, the other team probably has a better chance of scoring than the team with the ball...

 

I can't believe your friend was in the bathroom while the SB was on. I would rather piss myself than miss any plays in the SB

 

Whydoes it always take this team a half, before they start playing with some urgencey??. I cant remember the last time this team had a comfy lead going into the sec half
