I will be brining my son to 1st home game vs dirty birds Next Sunday the 8th. My question is - since Covid - how easy is it to buy tickets at game AND do you trust those tickets. I've read some horror stories about counterfeits but the fees on stubhub, etc are like $300 for 2 tickets... JUST THE FEES. If I'm gonna drop $600-1000 on 2 tickets I'd much rather it go to getting better seats than lining pockets of on line middlemen (at least scalpers are there hustling.. lol)...

Any help on tickets / suggestions on what to do while there that weekend / places to eat are all welcomed!!!

    Thanks in advance!!! Go Steelers!!!

    Rob

Only by scalpers on street corners. I would buy them BEFORE you get to Pittsburgh.

can’t really help you on where to get tickets, I bought mine on Ticketmaster a few weeks ago for the upcoming game. I was too scared to wait til the day of the game.

you are far better off buying tickets on Ticketmaster or one of the ticket brokerage places. No sense in taking a chance on getting a bad ticket.

20 years ago the way to go was just scalp a hard copy ticket. Now everything is through ticketless barcode entry on your phone. If it makes you feel any better I dropped about 3 grand to see them in Vegas. That was for everything though. Airfare, AirBNB, rental car, food, gambling, entertainment and misc. it was worth every penny to me. We bought the tickets the day before off of ticket bastard and yes the fees are stupid expensive.

I’ve always purchased my tickets before coming to Pittsburgh, so I can’t help with info on scalpers. For things to do, there’s a post pinned at the top that has all kinds of options.

Get your tickets on Ticketmaster. It is your first game, you don't want it to be soured. Beside that you'll be watching our boys battling for first place.

I prefer Tickpick, no hidden fees at checkout. BTW, Be ready for sticker shock, it’s going to be the most expensive game of the year for after market ticket purchases

FWIW. Tickets last year dropped over $100 the day before the game in Buffalo last year when I finally got them. Tickets this year for Vegas sky rocketed the day before when I pulled the trigger. At game time I could have sold them for more than double what I paid but no way was I going to miss the game.

Yes, so true. 20 years ago, scalping was the way to go, no doubt. But times change. I don't know if you can even go to a game sans a cell these days.

    This.
If you're making a trip here, I'd spend the few extra bucks for peace of mind and get tickets ahead of time.

Don't know where you plan on sitting, but if possible I'd try for the closed end of the stadium if you aren't going to sit on the sidelines trying to get close to the 50 yard line. I typically say F it and get seats in the 100 or 200 sections.

There is also a sticky with basically everything to do. Do not know how old your son is, but there is a lot to do. I have 8 year old girls who have been to pittsburgh many times and a preseason game last year. Going to their 1st reg season jags game. My kids enjoyed the strip district(steelers stores, restaurants, ppl watching), the incline, heinz history museum, pittsburgh zoo, kennywood(prob decorated for halloween now). Church brew works is interesting and carson st has a lot of restaurants. We also took the gateway clipper to the game last yr which they enjoyed(pricey because you have to pay to park then pay to ride the boat but cool to be on the river).

    I no longer see scalpers

It’s not like it was years ago

Your ticket has to be on your phone and in your phone wallet

Don’t depend on data to download at the last minute

Plus Ravens tickets are always in more demand

4 of us are coming as well to this game and having the same results. Ticket prices are up 40% from last year. I have come from Canada several times and never ever have I seen prices this ridiculous. We are likely going to scalp. Just make certain you purchase from someone that has a license. The state requires scalpers to have licenses.

It’s Filthadelphia. I’d want more than a gator to protect me before I’d go there. Maybe an emotional support Uzi.
