players need to be able to play the position they are assigned to at a high level before giving them more assignments.

The way the article defines diversity - players playing out of position - seems to be a miss to me. However I fully agree with the statement that we show less offensive diversity. I don’t know if I’ve seen a team in recent years use fewer personnel groupings, less diversity of play calling from personnel groups/formations, less motion and fewer formation shifts before the line is set. All of these things pressure the defense and we don’t even try. We just expect our guys to beat the defenders when the defenders have a really good idea what’s coming based on who is on the field and how they’re lined up. When people post videos that show KP and the line struggling as an attempt to exonerate Canada by saying “the players need to execute,” the videos aren’t taking into account that our lack of creativity puts our players at a disadvantage before the snap even takes pace. Case in point- how often does KP benefit from having coverage be revealed by motion? Pretty much never. Hell, I haven’t charted it, but it seems to me that when we use motion it’s usually to move a run blocker into place.

You know what is funny, If your team was 9-3 it's last 12 games you'd take that, right? Pittsburgh Steelers are.

we are still a young offense by league standards. there is a fine line of overload to this group. at least as of now.

Not letting Pickett audible out of garbage calls from above is just mindless. But then again look who's calling the offense.

I would say at this point it's Popcorn Word Salad Cliche Tomlins biggest mistake. It sits right at his feet...

With that being true, actually applying some of these concepts in the article, they could probably be better than 9-3 in the last 12 games.

You're going to have to take the third loss. The San Fran game was an ass whooping, and it's hard to overcome 3 red zone interceptions in the Ravens game, even though we did only lose by a field goal.

There is no doubt that going 9-3 in the last 12 games is very good. I think almost everyone understands that. At least I hope they do.

I just think the point is that if the offense doesn't improve they are never going to get to the level to reach the ultimate goal, which is to win the super bowl. There is so much potential and we all want to see it come out. It is going to take some time and patience with Pickett, but is Canada going to be proficient enough at his job to lead this offense to where they need to go? I think that's the real question, because I have my doubts about his scheme, his play calling, and the overall implementation of the offense.

TBH, I didn't realize it until another family member got sick of my moaning. I was kind of shocked. I can't remember our QB rotation last season but I think we are 9-3 with Pickett at the helm which is shocking to me.

It does kind of sneak up on you because they were so bad at the beginning of last season, and the improvement rolled over into this season. They don't feel like a really good team just yet, but the ingredients are there. You could see the talent at many positions. It's just a matter of making sure they all reach their ceiling. Can the coaching staff get all those players to be the best versions of themselves by putting them in the best position to be successful?

Exactly. Also look at those wins and losses more closely, especially the losses. They get their ass kicked in those games.

9-3 is nice but eye on the prize.

Unfortunately records start and stop at the beginning and end of each season, making this stat worthless.

Sure, they just can't play consistently well just yet. The offense has been anemic at times, so that needs to change.

I'm happy with the 12-game record, but this team isn't where we think they can go just yet. If this team can start to get a steady improvement in the running game, and Pickett continues to get better and more experienced, the offense is going to take a big leap forward. I want to see Kenny Pickett getting more authority at the line of scrimmage. I want to see a more diversified offense with more imaginative schemes, formations, and route trees.

I just want to see them put it together by the end of the season. Then hopefully make the playoffs and get more postseason experience and roll into the off-season and kill it again in free agency and the draft. For me, next year is really the year for this team. They should be seasoned enough and talented enough to go very far.

True, but it is still an indicator of the direction of the team. With young teams it is important to see growth and improvement. Sometimes it is painfully slow, but they have managed to be tied for first place in the division at a very, very early point of the season. Let's hope they continue to get better and can stack some wins to put themselves in position to control their playoff destiny.

So with all that said .....isn't a open player still open, and a covered player still covered??? Or are millions of people hallucinating open players????

All this reminds Me of the media, and Ravens fans. You could see guy open in their old offense, but They where just so sure it was weapons, and the OC. They got more weapons, and They have 5 first round targets on that team, and a brand new OC. Their passing game is worse then it was. .
Same with Chicago..They got more weapons, more OL ...You can watch tape after tape of wide open targets, and yet it's another Coach, and OCs fault by the Media, and fans. You people watch Chicago one game, and tell Me it's not the Qb.
Now while I'm not comparing KFP to them....because I believe He's way better.....I'm comparing the Media, and fans.

Is KP the only problem with the offense?

Nope. Not even close, but He's been a big part of it. When I'm not seeing wide open guys then come see Me. Which honestly that's what I expected. I expected Him to see , and hit most of the wide open targets, and yet that would not be enough to win because Canada sucked, but that's not what's happening.

So we should just shut down all discussion with things that need to be fixed until Kenny’s game is fixed? M’kay.

I think you just have a bug up your ass because YOU WERE THE FIRST TO SAY CANADA IS NO GOOD and it’s sticking in your craw that everyone else is saying it now :lolol:

Has not one thing to do with it. I promise. I'm actually dumbfounded that it's KFP, and not Canada that is the biggest issue right now.
