When will Broderick get his chance?

We've seen a fair bit of all of our top rookies outside of Jones. Porter has gotten a handful of snaps a game (would like to see more based on our struggles at the position), Benton rotates in on a very deep DL unit, Herbig has seen the field in the best OLB room in the league, as has Washington despite having a very good young TE ahead of him (we can't just tip our hand that its a run every time 80 is in the game). They made Bell, Najee, Pickens, Freiermuth, Bush, Edmunds, Watt etc. all day one starters as rookies. Guys like Burns, Pickett, Shazier, Dupree, all didn't start right away, but eventually started by year's end.

I don't think anyone is just sitting to sit bc they are young. Shazier was young and talented too and didn't start right away. They wanted him to learn first. It worked out great. Dupree was raw and needed some work before starting right away. Again, worked out well. Heyward took a couple years to start (albeit, we had really good players in front of him) and that also worked out great. If they feel Jones needs a bit more time to develop before being thrust out there, I am okay with it. We knew he was young and inexperienced, but super talented. There was always a high likelihood that his rookie season would look like this. I'd only start to be concerned if he goes through this year and another camp and isn't starting year 2.

Guys honestly does it matter? They brought in a high pedigree FA guard in Seamalu and he doesn’t well within the system. I would love to see Jones out there but with the coaching and scheme in such a disarray they might ruin him by putting him out there now.

this is partially true - yes, those 3 are great, but many teams have a great edge rusher - welcome to the NFL! If he was not ready, then we should not have drafted him, hence my comments about 'did we make a mistake'. He can leave college 'early', does not mean we had to risk the pick on him

I'd still love to see where anybody compared the skill level of Moore to the skill level of Green. I can't find it, but can find all kinds of examples of it being spun that way.

Moore has been playing bad but his experience playing Left Tackle coming out of Texas A&M trumps anything Green ever did at Illinois.

 

I'm the one who simply said that it looks like Moore is getting lots of chances like Green got lots of chances. That was turned into me comparing the two guys as if I was comparing their skill level, which couldn't be further from the truth. It since keeps going on and on, pathetically.

Remember how last season Daniels was being called an FA bust?! Look how he improved during the second half of the season. In addition, remember that changing Offensive Line Coaches is not as easy as it sounds; doubly so when one of those Coaches is arguably the best the game has ever seen in Jeff Stoutland. Pat Meyer has been rock solid thus far but Stoutland has been producing tremendous Offensive Lines for years.


Give Issac some time. He will come around. Mason Cole should be a massive talking point here.
