It helps if you have the second overall pick and you can trade for the third. Credit his draft maneuvering rather than some great feat of scouting.

Stroud can play, but look at the highlights. On his 68-yard touchdown pass, the receiver wasn't college open. He was high school open.

I watched that Jags-Texans game; Houston was not a fluke. Everytime it looked like Jax was gonna mount a comeback, they got smacked down.

I think a lot in here are overestimating the Steelers and underestimating the Texans. The Jags are no well-oiled machine, like a lot thought coming into this season. They have weaknesses.

But Houston made Lawrence look like nothing special and their performance was unspirited, like all they had to do was just show up and the Texans would bow to them (kind of like some of Tomlin's teams in the past when facing supposedly "inferior" teams). If Pgh shows up with less than their "A" game, they could lose this.

The Steelers' offense isn't good enough for the team to assume a victory over anybody right now, so hopefully, they will approach the next game with the appropriate mindset.

I think most of us went into the season expecting the Steelers to be good, maybe a little better than last season, which was reasonable. That was before they lost Heyward for half the season and Johnson for four weeks. If you don't think the latter is affecting Pickett, you haven't been paying attention.

Most of us assumed the Texans would be bad, but that clearly isn't the case. I still think the Steelers are the better team, but the margin is small enough that they could certainly lose this one, especially on the road.

CJ Stroud hasn't thrown an INT yet this season....heh, heh, heh.

No, he was "grade school open!" Who cares, he found him. Was Kenny's finding Austin open any less open? Why is his TD not scrutinized then? By the time Kenny played 3 games he had 4 interceptions, Stroud has ZERO. Any difference you see there?

Pickett has thrown three interceptions, not four. Facts are not your friends.

Reading and comprehension is not your friend. You responded to:

"By the time Kenny played 3 games he had 4 interceptions, Stroud has ZERO. Any difference you see there?"

His 1st 3 games were last year, when he did throw, as a matter of fact, 4 int, not 3 as you contend. Read it and weep, pop pop. 4 picks in his 1st 2 games (and 3, same amount) compared to Stroud's 1st 3 games who hasn't thrown even 1.

    https://www.statmuse.com/nfl/ask/kenny-picket-stats-2022-games

Now I'm sure this embarrasses you, but maybe it will teach you some humility in your rush to rip others. Try to learn something from this.

This is a huge game for the Steelers and one they should win. 3-1 with an offense that can only go up would be a real good spot after what we saw week 1. Baltimore at home after this and they are banged up plus we usually handle Lamar. Big game Sunday.

Scribe has some good takes and knows the game but he reminds me of Jack Nicholson in the shinning. Very angry and agitated just waiting to jump down anyone’s throat and then take an axe to their head.

All work and no play makes Scribe an angry boy.

This one screams "trap game" to me. I hope that the Steelers usual good results against rookie qb's (can we channel Dick LeBeau this week?) holds true. There should be a lot of Steelers fans there though one would think.

You act like Cowher didn't lose to inferior teams too, lost to the expansion Jacksonville in 1995, lost to Houston in 2002 despite them having less than 100 yards of offense .

Steelers are not a good enough team to have a trap game. Texans are probably playing as good if not better than we are (especially at QB)

In terms of looking ahead to Baltimore I don’t think a team struggling like us can do that.

Even though I didn't really like the movie(I'm a book snob), Jack N played the part pretty freaking good.

People tend to forget. Every team on the face of the planet has "played down to the competition "...anyone remember the Chiefs getting beat by the Colts, and Texans last year.....with a coach, and a Qb that most think is the best in the league???

Yep, the Cowboys were double digit favorites over Arizona, a team everybody thought was tanking.

Nah. I admit when I make mistakes, as I did in this case. That is more than you ever seem to manage, even though you make them far more often. Of course, unlike you, I'm not impressed by three-game sample sizes.

I have been angry about something written on this board twice. Both times it was the same poster. Both times, it was a comment that was way out of line. I will not say what it was, but one of the mods knows what I'm talking about.

When I mock people for posting stupid things, I'm not angry. I'm amused.

    Now, where's my axe?
