There’s one fatal flaw in your well thought out response.

There's not a coach in the league that has the best players at every position. You have to work with what you have. While you can only do so much, great coaches can hide weakness. Football is basically chess with violence. If our Oline sucks, then change things up. Keep a TE in more often. Use more motion. Be less predictable with pass/run rations and formations. Use more playaction. Use more screens. Move the pocket around. Those are all things I know how do to and I'm not a ****ing NFL coach. Why is it that Canada can't figure this **** out? I'm not saying those things will solve every problem, but it's a big step in the right direction.

What exactly are Canada and Tomlin doing to help our Oline?

I'd rush the hell out of Pickett. I'd do everything I can to dirty the pocket around him. He's shown that he gets happy feet when the pocket starts to break up, even though he may not actually be pressured just yet. As a result, his mechanics are terrible, his decision making is terrible and his throws are terrible. But make no mistake about it, he is getting abused out there. The Oline is going to get him killed.

Now let me ask you this. If you were the coach of the Steelers, what would you do to address this? You can't just tell Kenny to play better. He's not going to. The obvious answer is the Oline needs to play better, but again, you can't just ask players to play better. It doesn't work that way. That is why coaches exist, to make the necessary adjustments so that players do in fact play better. So what would you do?

You know, strummer, you keep right on believing that Canada is an NFL quality offensive coordinator if you'd like. Tells me a whole heckuvalot about your football intellect. I'd love to see Pickett complete 3 or 4 straight passes to Washington for big gainers. A good OC would figure something else out once the defense locked that down like, I don't know, running a few plays designed to get Pickens open in the MOF. And then when the defense locks that down and we've established the passing game somewhat, then maybe, just maybe, we can get Najee and Jaylen a little bit of chunk yardage. See how that works? Then (and maybe I'm dreaming now) once we start running the ball effectively, let's go play action and see if we can get the speed demon, Calvin Austin, behind the coverage for a huuuuuge play! I'm ready for the call Tomlin. I'd have the offense rolling in no time, lol.

But you keep the faith with your boy, Canada. Rational, reasonable and knowledgeable fans know that he SUUUUUUUUUUCKS!!! I'll bet if you were in the stands the other night, instead of chanting FIRE CANADA, you'd have been chanting CUT KENNY PICKETT! I know that you couldn't be stupid enough to actually believe that Matt Canada is a quality NFL offensive coordinator. Your defense of him is purely motivated by your hatred of Kenny Pickett which has been obvious since the Steelers drafted him. You may be right, Pickett may not be the Steelers next franchise quarterback, and you strike me as just being arrogant enough to want to be right about that even though it may lead to the failure of the team as a whole.

It amazes me that people think it's all on the players. Like what do they think coaches do? Lets take Mike Shanahan for example. Why is it that he always had a very strong running game? It didn't matter who is Oline was or who his RB was. Did he just get lucky all those years, or is there more to this coaching thing than some of you want to admit? Lets not forget that Kyle Shanahan also has a very strong running game, and he's taken a nobody for a QB and turned him into a top player in the league. Did he just get lucky too?

Does anyone truly believe Purdy would be good here?

Anyway. I've ranted for the last 30 minutes on this site. I'm sick of the acceptance of mediocrity. Time to log off.

One thing you’ve proven beyond a shadow of doubt is you are not knowledgable, reasonable, or reasonable.

First pic we have Pickens open on the top of the screen and Austin at the bottom. Where does Pickett go? Not with either of the two open receivers. That’s an easy throw for any nfl caliber quarterback. Second pic you have Pickens open up top and Austin open at the bottom on a comeback. Pickett throws the ball 5 yards short to Austin. Third pic Pickett opts for muth with two men on him(off target yet once again and incomplete). But look at that in the middle of the field. What is that? Is that a wide open steeler receiver that was completely ignored? You do you and whine about the coaches and coordinators until the cows come home. It’s what you do and what you will always do.I couldn’t care less. With that being said the proof as they say is in the pudding. The OC did his job and put players in position to succeed. While your boy. The guy you claim has “it” craps his pants over and over and over again.

I’ve admitted that I’m starting to have some concerns about Pickett. Certainly not giving up on him yet but there are now some major chinks in the armor and he’s got a lot to prove. But your hatred for him is, quite frankly, bizarre, and only exceeded by your Matt Canada fetish.

I don’t hate Pickett. Nothing could be further from the truth. Not once have you ever seen me post a Steeler sucks. I want all of them to succeed. However, unlike you I’m able to place blame where it belongs. If a player isn’t playing up to par you point to the coach. Always. You do it every single week during the season. It’s always Tomlin’s fault. Or the coordinator. With you it’s never the player screwing up. You’ll sit there and type out these asinine lists and quite statistics while completely ignoring what actually transpired on the field. Every single ****ing game your blaming every coach imaginable, but never the players. So you’re coming around on Pickett? Oh boy! It only took you and your vast football knowledge 14 games.

Isn’t that cute you’re back to memes. As per the norm you and your asinine arguments don’t have a leg to Stand on so here’s a meme!

next you’ll tell us all how a coach’s message is stale. Doesn’t matter you’ve never heard the message and the players buy into it, but it’s stale because you said so

I’m going to say it again just for you. I said it last season and in The preseason what are your concerns thread. Pickett’s accuracy on slants and passes to the flat. His ability vs zone coverage. How long will it take the line to gel.Now you and your vast football knowledge that you love to boast about should have seen this as well. However, you didn’t. You were too busy blaming the coaches and coordinators and coming up with dumbass lists. So perhaps you should try a different path. Maybe try actually watching and understanding what happens on the field. Ignore your base instincts, stfu about coaches, and learn the game you claim to ne so knowledgable about.

Very fair question.....I'm actually not sure.
I would try screen's left ,right, and center..so as to slow the pass rush .., and I would only have Him looking at one side of the field basing on what He sees pre snap. I also would be getting His a$$ under center, and running lots of play action, but of course I don't know what they are seeing in practice.....He maybe not good at it....Some players have trouble taking their eyes off the defense, and their players, and then locating them again.

Ok let's take Shanahan for instance.
Did You watch the game for example last night???
His Qbs have to take a hit to get rid of the ball....they can't get happy feet....almost every big play last night He had to stare the D right in the eye as the barrel into him for Him to complete those passes. Again let's take Shanahan.....did they just not take a Qb in the 1st round that they trade multiple picks for, and they already let Him go....why if Shanahan can just make any Qb look great????

Geez, was your dad a coach that got fired or something causing unresolved trauma from your childhood? Do you come from a family full of fired coaches causing you to be perpetually bitter? Maybe you should see a counselor. You and your vast football knowledge seems to never want to blame the coaches for anything. Weird.

    Let's talk about something cool.

    Watt & Highsmith
    Harrison & Woodley
    Porter & Haggans
    Lloyd & Greene

Steelers have something positive going for them with Watt and Highsmith. With Herbig and Golden as backup.

No doubt about that. Our starters, and backups at that position look pretty freaking good, and they will have to.

I believe it is safe to say me and you have both said our peace. Again though, this whole Kenny Pickett & Matt Canada lock step aspect is not the most pressing here. Me and you continually agreeing is far more of a pressing matter.

..... something I find quite refreshing. :drinks:
