This isn't your typical Tomlin fluff of insignificance; there is some meat in what he said here.

“We acknowledge that Jaylen is a significant player and a guy that’s
capable of being a significant component of what we do, as is Naj [Najee Harris],” Tomlin said. “We’ll make decisions about how we divvy up the labor based on what’s most advantageous in an effort to create victory this week.”

This is a direct acknowledgement that Warren's production can't be refuted and that Najee is NOT the assumed "bell cow" RB moving forward. This is a sign of progress, and it happened quicker than I would have predicted, probably (more like "assuredly") because of the extreme dier condition of the offensive production, or lack thereof. It's not due to our record (1-1 is nothing to abandon status quo over) but it's assuredly due to the vast emptiness of our offensive production. We are so dysfunctional on offense that we are the lone team that has not registered a 1st down in the 1st quarter of either game, not one. No other team resembles this futility of offensive football. None.

Najee MAY still be the starter this week in Vegas, but it's already a talking point that he may not be for much longer. Everything is on the table when the offense is this putrid (and the QB position is included at some point).

Art Rooney - and the Rooney family in general - is notoriously slow to react to the whims of the fans, but there is "the whims of the fans" and then there is THIS, a condition so dire that the crowd was cheering "fire Canada" loudly, often and consistently at Acrisure Stadium last Monday night.

Only in conditions such as this, would the "hire ups" even voice such thoughts regarding their "prize 1st round RB draft pick." This equates to Art himself having opened the door for Warren to be considered the "top" RB. SOMETHING needs to be done; it's obvious Warren offers a much larger possible "splash play" ratio than does the plodding, toiling, drudging Harris. In its current state, this team needs all the offensive big-play potential it can muster. I am pleasantly surprised that the team is looking at changing the RB touch ratios this early. Oh, yes, it's appropriate, but Rooney's reputation of stubbornness isn't born from inaccurate folklore, it's built off of reality. And Tomlin's words point to the team considering increased touches going to the more-productive Warren, thank God.

“[Warren is] just making plays when given the opportunity. Here’s a guy that
did similar things as a rookie and has done some really good things in the team development process. It’s probably a natural maturation process for us to give him more opportunities for it to transpire in-stadium.”

I think it's significant how often Tomlin made sure he thought it was significant. Obviously, his use of significance was meant to insinuate he meant to put significance on his coaching decisions. It's significant to understand that in no way was this another obvious word salad meant to offer nothing of actual significance.

Normally, I'd agree but this is different; these words offer significance.

I'm not sure I understand your point; do you mean to offer sarcasm to what he says?

    Tomlin is Teflon.
Or some other space age non-stick substance.

In today's NFL, I'm not sure there is #1 RB.
And in Mr. Jet Sweep's offense, I'm not sure he knows what a RB is unless someone told him recently.
Harris is still #1 in my mind, that guy is a truck.
I do like Warren and am not in any way disappointed when I see him get the ball.

Its just........ well, God #$%# it, like they didn't even run a single running play all summer, just stood around and played catch.
The slow starts are one thing, one expects the offense to be a little behind. But our offense's progress is like running under water.

Da Raiders do have a pass rush but they are a step down from the 49ers and Cleveland's defense.
This might be a good game to find a running game.
And ferchristsakes, when you pass, look for #14. I'm of the opinion that guy can catch anything.

Why would we want Tomlin to say anything of significance when he talks to the media? Wouldn’t other teams significantly change their approach if he did? There’s a significant strategy to say nothing of significance while mentioning how significant it is. Obviously.

I don’t know if it was more significantly obvious or obviously significant, but it was about the significance of the RBs, obviously.

I'm sure he heard the fans, the sports media ect. To hear that in your stadium and seeing very little result has to be concerning even to Art II.

I’m sure he did. However, he’s been around long enough to see what is actually happening on the field and knows where the issues lay. Your offensive line is missing 2,3,4 blocks on a play that’s not on the oc. Your running backs miss their assignment and let a free rusher waltz in isnt on the oc. Your supposed franchise qb is throwing high, low, behind, in front, in the dirt….

Y’all can yell and scream until the cows come home, but it’s the players that have to execute. Despite the claims by some fans we’ve had receivers open over and over again BK either makes the wrong decision or can’t deliver the ball on target with anything resembling consistency. When the qb starts making the correct decisions and throwing the ball accurately suddenly the defenses aren’t selling out to stop the run. Then we are no longer one dimensional and we can actually run the ball. Suddenly defenders can’t pin their ears back and do nothing other than sprint to the passer

We all know you get a position with the Steelers it is for life. And unfortunately for us fans that is a bad thing. There are a few people that should have been gone long ago but there still here and we are the same hum drum team that right now don’t know up from down.
