Good feeling about Sunday night. Mr. Canada learns to pound the ball with Harris and Warren easing the pressure off Kenny. O line steps it up.

Someone ought to sit these guys down and make them watch some tape of the 92 ' Steelers run game. This bunch is sucking. Missed blocks and mental errors..This is where ALL of our offensive problems start!

I have been lobbying for a run game coordinator for years,
someone who knows the run game. This is what will help KP
    transition to quality QB.

How many more bodies will it take? Canada makes the game plan and rumor has it he doesn't include any of his assistants. He is out of his element whatever that is. Couldn't fully succeed in the college ranks so where does he land? Why? What was seen by Tomlin to think he could take it to an NFL level? Every QB struggled under this bum, Ben would go rouge, Trubisky struggled and now Pickett.

They will ride with this clown for the season unfortunately. Everybody's wrong but Popcorn Tomlin.

I watched this last night. One thing I noticed was on a play they used Austin as a decoy, but the timing is all messed up. They brought Austin from left to right as if he would be running a jet sweep, but then hand the ball off to Harris. Well Austin was well past Pickett by the time they snapped the ball so the linebacker doesn’t bite and just comes crashing down.

I think the biggest problem is with the Steelers is they don't know what they want to be.

But they have shown to be a successful team they need to be able to run. When they won games down the stretch last season they, ran the ball successfully, had more control of TOP and played decent defense, and then let Kenny make a key clutch throw late in the game etc.

From sample size of Kenny Pickett, this seems to be better for him, he's not gonna be a QB that is going to be the lets throw it 45 times and try to win.

I have yet to see that.

You want Kenny to throw the balls in the 28-35 times range and run it the rest.

I am little disappointed our Offensive of Line hasn't done well the 1st two weeks. Maybe the defenses of the 49ers and Browns were good, but your also playing at home which is disappointing to run it so poorly.

Raiders appear to not be very good at run stoppage. You got to nail these guys with who is working, if Najee isn't running well, Jaylen Warren time, if he's having more luck time to get him more carries.

Got let go of the whole 1st round pick vs an Undrafted guy thing. Who ever is running successfully, and hopefully its both gets carries.

If the run game comes around then Kenny will most likely improve. If not I think Kenny will keep struggling.

So far, the guy who has been running more successfully has been Harris. All of Warren's impressive plays so far this season have come as a receiver. Don't get me wrong. I have no problem with them giving him the ball more and even giving him the bulk of the carries if he is more effective, but he hasn't actually done that yet.

By the way, Roethlisberger never threw more than 30 passes during his rookie season. He actually didn't throw more than 28 in the regular season. He didn't attempt 30 passes until the seventh game of his second season. He didn't go over 30 until he threw 41 times in a Week 14 loss that same season. He didn't attempt over 50 passes in a game until halfway through his third season.

Pickett attempted 52 passes in his first start. He only threw under 28 times in one game that he started and completed, and that was 27 attempts in the victory over the Ravens.

I agree that he hasn't shown he can help the team win when asked too throw that often. I'm just trying to add a little perspective.

First my general comment: Check the stats Najee is averaging 4.6 YPC and only 8 carries per game. Give the ball more to Najee.

Watching this I couldn't help but think what a lead FB would be able to do, and second why are the Steelers NOT pulling any offensive lineman on these running plays? I keep seeing these WRs in motion, but I don't think I saw a single play where a guard or tackle was pulling to be the lead blocker on the other side.

When I watched the 49ers game their O-line would create a hole in the defense, and then I would see, pulling lineman and TEs running into the hole before the RB to take on the LBs.

The video just kept asking who is supposed to block this LB and that LB, could the answer have been a FB, or a pulling O-Lineman? I also like the way SF would motion their TE to use as a lead blocker, not just stuck blocking at the line of scrimmage.

Steelers are a dillusional organization they actually think that the problem is missed assignments etc . Yea right 3 years of missed assignments every god damn week NO WAY it’s the system , the plays , the play calling , the design. They think by practicing harder will fix it. Maybe a HOF QB could overcome all this but Pickett won’t and it’s sad to watch

This point proves to me the offense is the offense and its not tailored to the skillsets of the individuals on the roster

Watching that video, I keep thinking ... Mason Cole, what are you doing?

Also, a lot of those backside blocks, those guys are barely getting there ... is this too complex for them?

I think it will take a few more weeks for the OL to be at their best. Hopefully it comes together for the Ravens. At the latest for the Rams game. If we are still seeing the same mistakes and missteps after then, that’s just who these guys are.

Canada gave Tomlin's son a full scholarship at MD. You don't think that has any reason to do with his inferior "coordination" being in Pgh?

Although I’m not sure what this question has to do with the post you replied to with it, I’ll answer anyway.

No. I don’t think Tomlin hired Canada because he ‘owes’ him for Dino’s scholarship. I think that is an ignorant assertion and grasping at straws.

Oh right, I'm sure Tomlin never even considered it when hiring him, right? Is that your assertion?
