Now that it is common knowledge that Lamar Woodley is a dud, what would be the best way to get rid of him? What is he making , 8 mill a year? How can the Steelers dispose of this fat, lazy sack of poop without taking a salary cap hit? Stop the bleeding.:hmmm:

I definitely dont believe Woodley is a dud, but I will say that he is too often hurt! The whole training regimine for this team needs to be reviewed and a better plan put into place. I have never seen any Steelers team so beat up in my entire 36 years as a fan!

I'll play along. I'm the Indy Colts and I'll give you a 4th round pick for your self-described fat, lazy, sack of poop. It's a 4th rounder since I have to take the salary cap hit and you don't. Deal?

why is it so dumb? it better be something they at least think about. or get someone on the other side of him healthy so woodley could be decent again. what has he done the last two years? he still gets sucked to far upfield and they run under him. same thing he did as a rookie and in year two. he's not playing up to his contract, you have to admit that. he's missed 18 games the last two seasons. thats over a year of pay for nothing.

Isn't that the same amount Troy has missed? I was thinking I read that somewhere.

Hell, if it was up to this board. We would be getting rid of everybody and would have nothing next year to worry about.

No, we would have a "dream team" like the Eagles.

Nailed it! He always seems to come in out of shape, then gets hurt because of it.

If you don't think calling Woodley a fat, lazy sack of poop is dumb then I can't help you. Sure the guy is having a sub par season due to injury, but don't forget this guy has come up big for us many times and I believe when healthy he will continue to perform at a high level. Give the guy a break, he'll be fine.

    He needs to rededicate himself.

With all the success in years past... I just wonder hom many guys have that hunger or fire on this team too?

My sarcasm meter is going crazy on this one. :lolol:

Woodley's injuries have been very frustrating and I think it's a conditioning issue. This will have to be dealt with or nagging injuries may snuff out what was becoming a very promising career.

I have targeted him and others (as my Bettis type trade) for offseason.
I hope the Steelers will consider it.

What would you want for him?

Remember you can't on one hand say the guy is a underachiever that misses lots of games, and then on the other expect somebody to fork up a 1st round pick for a Pro Bowl sack machine.

I would want a player of comparable skill level that stays in shape, plays with passion
and produces. Remember you have to be willing to give something to get something.
I do not have the time or tools available to me to put a name out there. This is
why we have a FO(scouts) to find these types of players. We found Bettis didn't we,
Why can't we find another Bettis?

Before we start sending our best pass rusher packing i hope we have a replacement in mind because I definitely don't see him on the roster. All woodley needs is a nutrionist and a pay cut.

I suppose it's possible to re-create what turned out to be the most lopsided trade in team history. It just ain't bloody likely.

    No problem with trying.

But this time, the Steelers are (by your reckoning) the team trying to unload a guy they're disapointed with, and are therefore not dealing from a position of strength. In that situation, it's harder to fleece the other guy.
