It's not simply about the restaurant. The fact that CBS and Kraft have a joint business venture means they have a business relationship, to some degree, outside of CBS simply broadcasting football games. Yes, to me, that's troubling. Click on the website: it's called CBS Scene, but it is 100% a Patriots theme restaurant. Call me fanatical, LOL, but it's a bit alarming.

Who cares if CBS and the Pats have a joint business venture? How is that a conflict of interest, you still haven't explained that to me? I think you misunderstand what a conflict of interest really is. The CBS is not the NFL, CBS is a private company and they are free to go into business with any and every NFL franchise if they wish. There's nothing conflicting about it. Even if they want to only show Pats games and no other games, that's their right. The NFL may then decide CBS isn't worthy of having the contract, but CBS can still make their own decisions.

You're right: I may be applying the "conflict of interest" term in the wrong way, here. I'm following the chain: If winning is good for the Pats, it's good for CBS; and if what's good for CBS is good for the NFL, then what's good for the NFL is the Pats winning. I have a problem with any national network, hired to broadcast games, having a vested and financial interest in one of those teams winning games. CBS not only loses some journalistic integrity, here (as though that matters these days), but it could also place the newtork's interests above the integrity of the game.

Just a comment. Collinsworth is getting better, but I am really getting tired of Jon Gruden. He talks too much, and everybody is great or terrific or HOFer. I used to love Dandy Don Meredith, and I thought Gruden was going to be like he, but Gruden is getting worse.

I don't mind Gruden, but to me he always looks like he's trying to say something funny and is about to crack up at himself, while looking around to see if anyone else is going to laugh at him. Like he thinks he's going to be funny, but is mostly intersted to see how everybody is going to react to what he says. Like a kid looking for approval from his parents or friends. I don't know if that's really what he's doing, but it sure looks like it to me.
