Yea but you're forgetting that Tomlin will be best buddies with his players and that's all that matters. And with this "buddy buddy" nature, you can keep your job even if you suck (see punter Harvin). Will this amount to a Super Bowl-winning team? No, but everyone will be best buddies. Isn't that all that matters?

" Mike Tomlin is a Defensive Coach "...

Not from the Defenses I've seen from him

Easiest question that I will ever have to answer, after the last game of the season!

Have to make this guy the focal point of the game plan, especially with DJ out now, no excuse if this continues.

Looks like he is saying something along the lines “I like the brother but this ain’t it.”

Something like that or just bad lip reading :lolol:

    “Nothing” to do with Canada…?

I’d say he has as much to do with it as anyone. Maybe not more, but certainly as much. He the OC.

This team is/was waaaay underprepared after a full off season. Yes, early, but most of the starters are the same from last year except the LG.

If Tomlin is blamed for not having them prepared or motivated then so is the head of the offense.Yeah, players gotta play and the protection was subpar. The execution was abysmal. And the plays called seem to scheme try to minimize much. It’s seems a very shallow unsophisticated playbook at the NFL level. So yeah, “nothing” seems like an overstatement.

Hard to pin anything on Canada that game when Pickett is missing wide open receivers and offense going three and out all day.

Defense **** the bed, that Canadas fault too? 49ers had their way with them all day so dont want to hear anything about being gassed because they were on the field too much.

well......OK. I love SB's , miss the old steeler way, but it ain't bad watching the Bengals or Bills or 49rs these past few years. MUCH BETTER than the product we have had to endure, even if those teams did not 'win a SB'.

So - we agree in a sense. We will remain average , it appears, this year. for a myriad of reasons

    exactly.

AFC SB will be very difficult to reach for years with the talent in the conference

Herbert and Allen both don't look nearly as good at QB as they did 2 years ago. And their troubles go back to last season. If Burrow don't get healthy quick... he's in the same boat.

The final answer is Canada won't be let go until after the season when his contract runs out.

What's crazy about this is the NFL career window is short, so instead of eating one year on his contract you put another year on TJ, Cam's, DJ,etc odometers to save a few bucks. Silly. This was the offseason to do it, to get a proven NFL coordinator in here working with pickett on a "new" offense. Now next year will be another transition year as everyone has to learn the new system in "game speed" conditions. Damn shame. I know broken record, its just frustrating hoping we succeed despite Canada's **** offense.

The problem is we are not the veteran cowboys telling Barry Switzer just stay out of the way.

Watch the play starting at 2:09.

As long as Tomlin believes in lining up and just beating the man in front of you they will not see this type of play calling. 49ers sent 2 WR out on a route and made the Steelers look like pop warner.

The play calling we get is like that clip I posted earlier about the Bears where the receivers end up in the same spot

I'm not saying the Steelers are next up, the Bengals and Bills don't exactly look like elite teams, the Chiefs will take a step back.

I didn’t pin it on Canada. But he has as much as anyone as I tried to be clear about.

The O-line wasn’t the worst and Kenny ran a touch quicker that he probably should have, but he was still pressured far too much and they were still calling too many pass plays when it was obvious he didn’t have the stuff that day.

And(!) when he was calling pass plays, he still seemed (based on the called plays) he still has few crossing routs and I never saw one hot rout.

His book and feel are not good.

Man. I had this exact thought today. People on here crush somebody for sharing the opinion of some media members, like they're some mindless automaton, giving none of their own thought to the matter. So, I'm not supposed to value the opinion of a beat writer, analyst, former player or coach but I'm supposed to give credence to that of a nameless gray face behind a computer screen? Now, granted there are some media guys out there pushing junk just to get clicks and conversely, there are some very knowledgeable dudes on this message board but it's really quite easy to see the frauds in both groups.
