The morning panel on ESPN really ripped Canada for that jet sweep. They said that no matter who the Steelers play this year the better play caller will always be on the other side of the field.

Daniel Jones just got paid and the Giants were annihilated at home 40-0. Things could be a lot worse for the Steelers.

Yes it does but those Teams don't have to go back seasons to see a powerful Offensive output..Plus I bet half that list throws for 250 plus this week and puts up 30 plus.. What are the odds that our Team can do either for damn sure can't do both.. It may be 4 0r 5 seasons from now before we ever see that .. As it looks now probably under another QB and another OC and maybe even another HC ...

true but we cant score the ball either , this may be the season Coach T cant rally the troops,, IMO if we get handled again at home it is going to be a long season ..We may be talking about the draft by mid season...

they built this team to control the ball. by their own words. it's not built for kenny to be patrick mahomes. until the offensive line along with the big blocking TE that we drafted are used will we do that. we had friermuth as the TE blocking, which he is not our best, and the offensive line played below the bar in this game so we didn't get to play the game we were built for.

the team was also built for the defense to stop the run and put pressure on the opposing qb. TJ did, but that was it for pressure and we got burnt again stopping the run. create turnovers and give us short fields to run the ball and control the clock. none of that happened in this game. we are not built to go score for score with teams in a shoot out.

get jones at right tackle, washington on the field blocking and go from there with a run game. it will allow kenny to pick his passing game options without having to push the ball. not his strength.

all is not lost. many new parts. built for the long haul. get some guys healthy and build off this tape we have.

they didn't look so GOOD sunday or monday. it's still a team game. they built this team to not have to rely on kenny doing it all. only one of those good qb's have won a super bowl. i hope we are not playing for 2nd or 3rd place and counting that as success. throwning for bunches of yards and still losing does nothing but frustrate everyone into thinking these guys are good. only one goal. 3 out of 4 of those good qb's have won as many super bowls as kenny. put that in your pipe and smoke it.:smiley1::cool:

Don't forget the other consistent factor for all of those non-400 yard offensive outputs: Mike Tomlin. He's a defensive coach who puts his fingers in the offensive gameplan, and voila, you get a big sh-tburger for an offense. Tomin mucks up the offense and has for a long time but no longer has Ben to save his @ss after he screws it up for 3 quarters.

Here lies the dilemma...I have NEVER, EVER, EVER been a proponent of rooting for our team to LOSE, even if it means upgrading our draft positioning. However, losing may be the only thing that Artie II will understand to get rid of Mike Dumblin! He's been "driving" the car of our Organization now since 2007, and has driven off the road and created a rut. It's just mind-boggling that we have any folks left in our fanbase that thinks he's anything other than an AVERAGE coach...and it's even more amazing how these reporters and beat writers who go to the Steelers press conferences refuse to challenge him with any sort of uncomfortable questioning. It's getting real old, real fast. Like Tim Benz said last year, the Steelers are now officially like every other team in the league....and it's all on Dumblin. I'm just not sure I can ever accept that, ever.

And all we heard this off-season, especially coming into the end of pre-season, was how Tomlin never had a losing season, as if that is the end-all of notifiers to determine quality head coaching. Not playoff wins, not playoff seasons, not post-seasons with different QBs, none of those things - only the end-all barometer of Tomlin never having a losing season. Well, we saw what happens when Tomlin meets a real quality coach last week: a total destruction and humiliation. We were out-coached by a WIDE margin: on offense, on defense, on every possible meaningful aspect. It was like a young pupil matching up vs. a master. And in case anyone missed it, the master whooped the @ss of the pupil.

Tomlin will probably go 9-8 with the easy, cupcake schedule we have this year, and then most of the media/fans can ballyhoo about him not having a losing season, while making no threat to actually contend for a Super Bowl in any way shape or manner. Enjoy.

I would love to know if anyone here thinks Tomlin and this staff can lead the Steelers to another Super Bowl appearance ever and if so why?? Just because players love to play for you doesn't mean they will be the most successful. It's easier playing for him but does that mean you will be the best you can be. I will always contend that Tomlin never made the adjustment in style from coaching a veteran laden team in 2009 to subsequent years when the team began to become younger and needed a firmer hand. I agree with Terry B, he's a rah rah guy and created a too soft/player friendly locker room. This allowed the bs like Ben and AB not being held accountable for their behavior and allowing a different set of rules for different players to take hold. I watched Ben and Bill on Ben's show recently and the difference in approach is very stark. Cowher was a disciplinarian and it seems Ben wished he had played for Bill when he was a vet and I think Tomlin is such a players coach that our team will never be fully disciplined and the best it can be under his style.
