This title now makes me laugh. Felt like a lifetime ago now.

 

Yes the hype really was a bit OTT, some of the national media bought in to it as well.

That said, I’d expect significant improvement on yesterday, they are probably a fringe playoff team that’ll finish 9-8 or maybe 10-7 but the offence won’t be anywhere near good enough to make an impact in the postseason if they make it that far.

The Steelers aren't a bottom franchise, not even close to it .

 

Absolutely…we are firmly in the middle of the pack and have been for the last decade.

 

Maybe not bottom because of the history but when have they been significantly a threat for a title? It’s been a while they are not remotely in that conversation again this year or last year or year before. I just hope for a playoff spot now and even that is an uphill battle

Let's see how they currently compare to the typical bottom teams:

1.) Lions - They just beat the world champs and are on the rise. Steelers are worse than Detroit.
2.) Browns - we will see Monday if Pgh is better.
3.) Jags - Just won a playoff game last year, it's been 6 years since Pgh has. Jax is better.
4.) Jets - 1-0 and beat us last year.

We might be better than the Texans.

Well, your first post here says you are seeing how they currently compare to the typical bottom teams.

1. You say Steelers are worse than Detroit after 1 game this season.

2. You say we will see Monday if the Browns are better than the Steelers. Just in case you weren't paying attention to your own post, after Monday's game it will be based on 2 games. Which explains why I said you have everything figured out after 2 games. Not rocket science. I am correct. You are wrong.

3. You say the Jags are better than the Steelers. Again, 1 game into this season. Saying you are comparing them currently doesn't really mean the last 6 years....but once again you are all over the place. Even last year doesn't really mean anything. It's what both teams do this year over the entire 17 game schedule.

4. You say Jets are 1-0 and beat us last year. So OK, that's what you believe. I guess we'll see.

When you are making a declarative statement about teams being better than the other after one week into a new season you are asserting that you know that as fact, or it is you opinion. Ergo, you think you have it all figured out. If you don't believe any of that, then why did you put your thoughts into print? If you believe what you wrote, you think you have it all figured out with many more games to go.

In the world of football, the only thing that matters is what your record at the end of the season. That's it.

No need to be cute with semantics. You either believe what you wrote or you don't.
