Seriously. This guy will be once again in the booth, pulling for whoever plays against the Steelers, looking at wrong calls and obvious interference, and saying it's not a penalty, and blatantly taking the Bengals side in strategy, all day long, for the fifth consecutive week.

I seriously, cannot stand this toolbag.

Yep and then sync the tv with the satellite radio or internet to get Tunch and Wolfe on from Pittsburgh. Been doing it all season long.

I always hated doing that, because I like to be on this board during the game. By reading the board, I'll know whats happening 2-3 plays before I see it.

Yeah trying to Snyc up with the radio is hard. I even get KDKA in Pittsburgh, I kick on the the local steelers radio and that radio is always about 6-7 seconds ahead of the TV broadcast, so I just put up with Jim Nantz and Phil Simms. I think people get a little carried away with Simms, I don't think he hates the Steelers all that much, but he does say a lot of boneheaded things from time to time.

I've actually seen Simms give the Steelers a lot of props on Inside The NFL. All announcers will piss off a fan base at some point but the one that gets under my skin the most is Joe Buck

My radio feed for the Dallas game was 16 seconds past the Satellite feed. I just delayed the TV 16 seconds and matched it up to the run up to the kickoff. Each game is different of coarse but my radio feed (sirius) has always been behind the TV. Sometimes it takes about 4 tries to get it right but I have been able to. Beats listening to some of these commentators for sure.

I don't have an issue with either Simms or Collinsworth. Sometimes we hear what we want to hear. But I do think Nantz is really, really, really bad, and is a huge NY/NE homer. Let's not forget, these guys no doubt get wined and dined at the CBS Sports Scene bar and grill every time they are in Foxborough. How the NFL allowed Kraft to put that thing in, right next to the stadium, is a mystery to me. Seems like a huge conflict of interest: CBS now has a vested interest in the Patriots doing well. I have never liked this move, and I hate it more and more every season.

I don't know, I've always thought Simms was much worse than Collinsworth. I know a lot of people say that Collinsworth bashes the Steelers, but he always sounds to me like he has a man-crush on Ben.

I would prefer Collinsworth 1,000x over Simms. He and Gruden are the best in the Biz IMO.

Phil Simms is not intelligent enough to construct a sentence long enough to count as a "plan".

You know, it's kind of funny. I don't really dislike any of the guys I've hear do games for any of the stations. If I HAD to pick one it would be Theisman, but ESPN took the mic away from him.

This may sound like sacrilege to some, but I couldn't stand Myron Cope. Having not grown up listening to him, I always thought he was incredibly irritating and annoying.

I've been a Steelers fan since the 70s, but living in Ohio, I didn't really hear Myron until the 90s when we got an "official Steelers radio" station here (which has now been gone for several years). I liked him, but coming from a background of not having heard him, I can see why you'd think that.

I have always said that Collinsworth is fine. And he doesn't dislike the Steelers at all.

In fact, listen to him again on inside the NFL before the Dallas game.

How is that a conflict of interest? CBS is a private company, they are allowed to do whatever they want and they can openly support on franchise over another if they choose to. CBS may air NFL games, but they are not governed by the NFL. They can set up their head office right in Gillette Stadium if they want.

Good points on Chris Collinsworth. I've heard him be one-sided a lot. However, I have heard him give props to Steelers. But it seems Chris and Phil are often very critical. Then again, that is their job, right? :lolol:

It's not Simms' criticisms that annoy me. It's the fact he talks inane b******s about everything and anything.

People hear what they want to hear. I guarantee if you ask enough NYG's fans, you'll find many of them will say Phil Simms is biased, hates the Giants and loves the Steelers. I'm sure you'll find Pats fans that say the same thing.

If these guys were that openly biased, there would be a large number of complaints and they would be told to tone it down or they'd be taken off the air. There's no shortage of sports broadcasters, they'd be replaced if most people didn't think they were doing a good job.

I find many Steelers fans want to hate the whole world and try hard to implement an us vs the world mentality.

Actually, they do not operate independently of the NFL. The NFL owns the copyright on all broadcasts; it is their property. There is some institutional controls the NFL has over CBS, Fox, NBC, and ESPN, but I don't know how far. That said, CBS's ownership of a restaurant (it is not a chain) at Gillette Stadium raises serious questions about the integrity of CBS's and the NFL's relationship with the Pats. If CBS and then the NFL create a culture of "we need the Patriots to host playoff games because it's good for business," then there's a problem. Indeed, CBS is in bed with Kraft. One has a lot of influence over the other. And since there is some sort of relationship between CBS and the NFL, that makes the influence all the more questionable. I am not one for spreading conspiracy theories, but let's not forget: the restaurant was set to open in 2008. There are many people who have questioned how Goodell handled the Patriots' spygate controversy in 07 and why he destroyed tapes without anyone seeing them. Not only was Goodell protecting the NFL, he was protecting the Pats, and why? Perhaps because it was also in the best interests of CBS? There may not have been any connection, there, but it sure smacked of impropriety and has ever since. To put it another way: if a Fox Sports Grill was operating inside the Superdome, do you think Goodell would have come down so hard on the Saints? No, me neither.

Do you really think Goodell, who is in charge of a multi-billion dollar industry gives two craps about a restaurant? There's not a chance in hell he cares one tiny bit about that restaurant and he sure as hell didn't alter his spygate investigation because of how successful the restaurant may or may not be.

You're seriously reaching here. Besides, the NFL owns the broadcasts of the games, but it doesn't mean it controls CBS. CBS can choose to openly support the Pats if they wish. CBC (Canada's national and publicly funded broadcaster) openly supported the Toronto Maple Leafs for decades and decades, and only very recently has that support died down a tiny bit.
