The 49ers are the best team they will face all year, at least they got ass whooping out of the way in game one.

Their schedule is a cakewalk except for today. They will beat some teams 17-13, 16-10, 20-17 et al, typical Tomlin schedule. End up with barely a winning result and all the Tomlin lovers will croon about his non-losing season, whoopity doo dad.

Sorry, I can't come up with a positive note. This looked like an NFL team vs a pop warner team

How can you not be upset with this loss? Maybe not that we lost, but the way we lost. The Niners are a good team but we’re supposed to be a much improved team as well. The Steelers are also an NFL team, one of the most successful in NFL history (once upon a time). I would have been okay with the loss as long as we showed some competitive fire. We came out, once again, flat and unprepared…a hallmark of Tomlin’s coaching tenure. We all should be very upset with the way we lost this game today. It was a pathetic effort and everyone from Art Rooney to the equipment manager should be ashamed!

    Like that? I hope so.

Don’t get me wrong, it was a serious whooping, but the poor execution of The Steelers was more to do with it than than us doing our thing and them being that much better. The Steelers played horribly because of themselves just as much as them beating us. I think this squad is much better than they showed. If they have an exorcism on lots of that bad juju and sharpen up their set they won’t look so bad.

Inaccurate throws, lame game plan, and a few key injuries to meaningful players.

Not to mention all of the 9ers fan crowd noise. That is inexplicable to me. Did nearly alllllll those people travel to the Burgh? Is there really THAT many in the region???

Why aren’t there more Steelers fans filling a “sold out” stadium for a first home game in in 8 years??? Pathetic!

Agreed, it’s only week one and the 49ers are good but this loss gave me a bad feeling that could spell trouble for the rest of the season

    1. KP looked rattled and inaccurate - never quite seen him like this. Guys were open and even with pressure he’s on target - not today. I think he’ll bounce back - but I thought he’d play better than this.

    2. O line sucked. Couldn’t get past the defensive front and attack the linebackers - as a result - no where to run. Sit Moore down already - he’s worthless and slow - play Jones already - he’s got a higher ceiling and better run blocker.

    3. defense. Getting blown off the line of scrimmage a little too often. Maybe it’s the niners superior O line. Or are we overrated? Secondary looks suspect too. Purdy looked like a pro bowler against us. Brock Purdy. How are we going to do against Burrow, Jackson and Watson?

    4. Canada is a lousy play caller and terrible at designing receiver routes. So disappointed in the Steelers for keeping this bum around. He’s not getting better.

There are some things that are fixable from today. Dumb penalties and unforced errors. I suppose most of us realized it might take a few games for the revamped o-line to gel. It seemed to me that the short passing game was non existent. There were times that Kenny had a good amount of time but couldn't find anyone open or missed them when he did. I think the offensive problems will get better. This one just really got away from Kenny.
The defense on the other hand is worrisome. Have to find a way to stop the run and the secondary looked awful. Regardless of how the team looked, I'm not burning down my Steelers mancave.

Brock Purdy took the 9ers to the NFCCG last season. He's pretty damned good!

he’s a 7th round pick and he’s a small guy for a QB, we got beat, really beat, by Mr irrelevant - I know he’s played well but it still doesn’t feel good at all. DeShaun Watson is probably looking forward to carving our D up.

I don't give a crap who Your coach is . If Your Qb continues to throw behind, over, below, and doesn't even see wide open targets .....You are in trouble. Hell You seen when Purdy did it.. they had to punt.....KFP did it over, and over, and over, and that's not counting the ints. If He doesn't get better.....the Steelers as a team will only do so much.

However a good coach will sit down with KP, study tape with him and tell him what he’s doing wrong, not planting his feet, or not stepping into throws, which could cause inaccuracies. A not so good coach will just ‘let him figure it out himself’

He looked much better than he had in previous opportunities returning kickoffs. They pretty much just ran the same play for him twice on offense, a play they could have easily run with warren.

You are either good , or Your not. If You don't think a coach is going through this with him.....well I don't know what to tell You.
Example..Lamar Jackson He only throws for less than 200 Yards a game because of (this is what people said)
    1. Oc
    2. Targets
Yet today with this supposed open offense, and four 1st round Wrs, and a awesome TE....against the Texans he was....like 164 yards no tds, and a int. You are either good by the time You hit the NFL, or Your not.....yes they can polish things on You , but they can't change You.....other wise everyone wouldn't even worry about drafting in the 1st.....You would just make a guy into what You want him to be.
I'm not saying KFP can't be good....I'm saying He didn't show a dang thing today that says He will.

No doubt. If this is what Pickett is, the Steelers are going nowhere this season. You could argue that it was his worst game as a pro. There was a little bad luck with Johnson losing his footing on the first interception, though it wasn't a great throw, but the second one was stupid. The lack of accuracy was just weird. Those were throws you expect him to make.

There's a few other guys who did pretty well for themselves: Joe Montana was a 3rd round pick, Brady was a 6th round pick, Brees was a small guy for QB, Flutie was a really small guy for QB......A good player is a good player. Doesn't matter what round he was taken in or his height (or hand size)

That scary....because I thought His strength would be... quick processing, good decisions, and a pretty accurate ball, and I seen no sight of that today. I hope it was just a bad day.

Pickett was just weird. That was as bad as I've seen him play since his first couple of seasons at Pitt. I'm not sure I've ever seen him miss so many open throws.

The line wasn't good, but I'm not sure Moore is the one I'd blame. The entire unit struggled. There is a good chance we will see Jones next week with Moore at right tackle because Okorafor is in the concussion protocol.

The secondary was horrible. Even Fitzpatrick deserves to be lumped into that. Those new inside linebackers weren't good, either. I think we saw how much this team relies on Heyward. He went out early it showed.

I do wonder if the lack of open receivers early was at least somewhat on Canada. Most of the first quarter, Pickett had nowhere to go with the ball. Then the wheels fell off.

Early on, he just had nowhere to go with the ball. Time and again, nobody was open. That led to him forcing something on the first interception. The lack of accuracy today was just weird.
