    If I hear that one more time I think I’m going to :puking2:!

    How many times throughout the course of Mike Tomlin’s career have the Steelers come out and laid an egg in a meaningful game? THIS game today was a meaningful game that will set the tone for the season. I’m not upset that the Steelers lost, but at how they lost. They were manhandled and emasculated today. There was so much hype going into the season after a nearly flawless preseason. Was it too much to expect at least a competitive game? Kyle Shanahan is an exellent football coach. Mike Tomlin, though he has some good qualities, is an average coach. Like it or not, at this point in Tomlin’s career a huge part of his legacy is that his teams tend to lay eggs in big moments. I know the players have to play but at this point Tomlin coached teams across a few generations of players now have underperformed.

    So please spare me the “it’s just one game” nonsense. How many times has this team at the end of the season needed that “just one game” to get them into the playoffs? How many times has this team been relying on other teams at the end of the season to get them into the playoffs because of that “just one game”? Tomlin and company need to understand that the early season games count too, and those are the games that could make or break the season. The Niners are a very good, well coached football team and again it’s not about the loss. It’s about the pathetic effort this team put up today and that goes for all three phases of this team AS WELL AS coaching!

    But hey…it’s just one game. :puking2::puking 3::puking 5::puking::frustrated::frustrated::frustrated:

    Although this team can improve It just shows us how far away we are from being an elite team.

    I was hoping for, bot necessarily expecting a win, but what I wanted to see was a prepared, competitive team in all phases of the game. We saw nothing of the sort. yes it takes time for a team to gel, blah blah. We have heard this, this was a complete crap show from top to bottom. Tired of the excuses, coaches, coordinators, players, we sucked...fix it or move on.

    Unfortunately because the Steelers hit on a couple great coaches they have a mindset that coaches stay for life. This team should have moved on years ago but we are stuck because they had a dynasty in the 1970s.

    Same thing every year I agree. When will a change be made? When is enough enough?

    Surely you were impressed with the team today. On to next week! SB contenders like your thread said.

    Reading comprehension isn't your strong suit huh? I said they could be SB contenders next year, after they have another draft and free agency.

    It's one game, but the injuries could ruin this season before it gets started. Heyward is reportedly out eight weeks with surgery to repair his groin. Johnson could be out for a while with a hamstring injury. Okorafor is in the concussion protocol. None of that is good with the Browns up next. They are going to pound away with Chubb and I'm not sure how that defense is going to hold up any better than it did yesterday as long as Heyward is out.
