Steelers vs. 49ers official game thread

Looking too much like last year's team on both sides of the ball. Nothing to see that says there's actually any change or improvement. Yeah, SF is a very good team, but that doesn't change the fact the we're seeing the same problems with the Steelers.

 

Certainly, staying 20 points down isn't going to win it either. It might give the team a SLIGHT bit of confidence though.

 

I will never forget the way Andy Reid got guys open in red zone during the SB using motion and guys cutting through the line.

It isn't even the loss that bothers me. This is the best opponent on their schedule. They can bounce back from that.

The injuries are a huge concern. Johnson is a killer on offense, as is Heyward on defense. Even worse, Pickett has been terrible. That's a very bad sign for 2023.

 

I hate Canada as well, but this is 100% on KP. Its his decision where to throw the ball. I'm just shocked the routes took them into the endzone.

 

People for the 5 million time the OC doesn't force the Qb to throw to a certain target....He doesn't force the Qb to throw over, under, and behind the target, and really does force the Qb not to throw to wide open targets. I've seen Austin open for a tD, and a few other plays, and was never looked at....not counting all the terrible throws

 

Wallace and Kazee have been abominable in this game.

 

Wow. Wallace didn't even come close to covering Aiyuk on that play.

 

Aiyuk is like 7/11. Open all day.

100% agree. He can run any route on the tree and be effective!

The stop back shoulder fade is something that the staff needs to use more IMO. It's the same route B Ayuk(sp) scored on against us early in the game. It's nearly unstoppable if you get someone with fast twitch and hands like Pickens.

 

Wallace and Kazee are just not in this game at all.

All the talk in the offseason was how Pickett watch tape of all 144 incomplete passes. How much work he put in yada yada yada. What do we see versus a good team? The same bs qb play as last season. Poor decisions. Passes to the flat and on slants behind receivers….

I’ll be the first to admit the team you watch in week 1 isn’t the same team you see a couple weeks down the road, but ugh. Things are bleak right now.

 

Watch San Fran will play the Rams next week and it will be highly contested

You could say that about every position. I guess we shouldn't have drafted TJ Watt because we drafted Jarvis Jones in the 1st before him???

Canada is just one of the many problems they have had for years. Purdy looks like Joe Montana out there Steelers have one good player Watt that’s it !!!!
