My first car was a 79 Ford maverick. I paid 200 for it in 1990. My dad asked me how much I had and I said the 200 hundred and my Dad being my dad wasn't listening because he asked the guy if he could do 500 on it and the guy said no I'll take the 200. Best car I ever owned. I was in two fender benders in it and didn't even dent it. My older brother gave me 300 for it and he had 3 accidents and never even scuffed the paint. The timing chain went out on it and us not being mechanically inclined took the guy at the junkyards word that we would never find a replacement for it. Sold it to him for 200 and he walked into his yard found the part and fixed the car for his daughter. We used to still see it around town. I miss that big hunk of steel.

I just call him cousin Tommy the same as she does lol. You'd think with as much family tree stuff that I do I'd have that down.

I'm Italian, so if they're your age, they're your cousins. If their your parent's age, they're your aunts and uncles. If they're your kids age, they're your nieces and nephews. Makes things a lot easier.

I had a 2nd cousin who was the same age as me but lived out of state and I hadn't seen her since she was a gangly little girl around 13. When she was 18 she came to visit us and what a transformation into a beautiful young woman. I was cursing my fate that I lived in Pennsylvania instead of Alabama.

Yet in certain parts your cousins are also your siblings, your Uncle and Great Uncle could be the same person, and as Ray Stevens once sang, I'm my own Grandpa. lol

if I bought a $40,000 car and 2 years later found out that it wasn’t what I’d expected and didn’t perform to what I felt it should. I wouldn’t put it in my garage and get nothing for it. I’d buy a different car maybe even 2 and draft me another one, I would have 4 cars now and I’d rather sell the $40,000 car for $10,000 and able to get what I could out of it instead of nothing for it at all. So now that still leaves me with 3 cars that equals
    More value.

I honestly don’t think it was a bad choice, I just think putting him at center his rookie year and welcoming him into the hungry wolves destroyed him mentally and it even affected his play once he started playing guard. I think he got the I can’t do this mentality even how hard he tried it was in his head how his career started.

First car was a green Pontiac Ventura. Better known as the Green Machine amongst friends.

Engine outlasted the body, the chassis eventually fell out.

That's as bad as a Pinto!

My buddy had a real old Grand Torino. It was green and just beaten down. Broke down all the time We all called it the Grand Burrito!

That's what friends are for. :lolol:

My first car was a '77 Volkswagon Dasher. Yep, I've never seen another one either. I stole some limo service door magnets from a car show at the mall and put them on my car. Drove my whole senior year with those. I believe if I had treated that car right, it would still be drivable today. Not sure about the magnets.

Family get together on Labor Day. My brother's second wife brought her granddaughter (his step) and she was playing with my nephew's kids, two of whom are step-.
Cousins is a lot easier than trying to figure that one out.

    Nice very nice

Mine didn’t have any rust but it did have 3 different shades of primer

See if your brother even knows what GTO stands for most owners don’t have a clue

"GTO" stands for "Gran Turismo Omologato,"

I also had a 442 and most owners didn’t know what that stood for it was not an engine size

    That's a beautiful car.

I love and admire the classics, but I prefer slick and newer. I would like to collect cars but don't have the room right now. I just have one toy.

My first car was a '78 Formula Firebird. It had 100,000 miles when I got it, it was unreliable, and the T-tops leaked, but I absolutely loved that car! I had more fun in that thing than should be allowed!

    Great times!!
