One thing that the likes of me, you and @S.T.D can know and sleep well is that Kenny was the choice! I am as optimistic as anyone about Pickett but I gotta see it first. Clearing San Fran and their tremendous Defense will be another good step in the right direction for him; the entire Offense the same.

Then very likely. As stated before, Pittsburgh has gone the Senior route for QBs since 2013. Wouldn't have been surprised if Malik was the choice had Kenny not been there.


I do agree with Colbert and Tomlin though that Kenny had no business being there. Bad QB Class notwithstanding, none of that matters if you don't have the guy. New Orleans seems to think so with Derek Carr but the concerns are very much real there. Bryce Young wasn't the number one overall player on my board in 2023, that honor belonging to his team mate in Will Anderson Jr but being merely 6 ft. (if that) and weighing less than 200 lbs.... in a division of Interior Defensive behemoths?!... Not the road I would have taken; doubly so given then questions along the Offensive Line. I do want Young to succeed... and I believe he will. Question is.. will he last that long to do so?! Time will tell.
