Yeah, I’ve never been a good guitarist but that song took me about 3 minutes to learn well enough for me to be comfortable playing it in front of other people.

This, but You would be amazed how You can play something like Divination, and people will just stare with no reaction, and then play this(Lightning Crashes), and they will stand up , clap, and say....wow You play great....LoL, and that is why I never cared what most people think about music, players, or playing.
I have also seen how most people hear tone, and not notes. I've experimented with this before. Play the exact song totally clean, and then play a different song, and then play the 1st song exactly the same, but with distortion, and watch the same people that didn't pay attention the 1st time ....start clapping, and getting into it....also same in reverse with a different crowd. I'd say about 70 % hear tone, and not actual notes.

I was trying to keep it in simple terms. Example G is a note, or G# is a different note.....A shift in keys, higher or lower...hell most can't even tell the difference in a octave change. If You were being funny....than never mind. LoL If You weren't....I hope that explains it better

Here is a simple tune the band I was in covered at one time. Funny thing was when We 1st covered it we got no reaction from people then by the end of the year people were clapping afterwards. I thought this was strange, but found out it was then used in a movie soundtrack, and now people knew it.
    It's a simple , but fun song.

Well that is very important.....believe Me. I wished when I was playing out all the time We had someone like that. Our manager/promoter sucked....,and we were a bunch of Guys that could really play, but didn't understand anything at all of anything else.

The most talented band I ever played in had very few followers

One of the least talented bands I played in had a huge following

    I don't know.

You know the movie where the chick says, "you had me at hello"?? Well you lost me at "This":) Come on man, you got words like divination and some stuff in other post about G notes. You're not much more advanced then me. I once played the opening chords to Smoke On The Water, twice.*

F-ing with you, TBH, I was so damn envious of people with musical talent. I envied that more then my envy of men with athletic ability. Those my two biggest envies.

Guy handed me his guitar, not electric, and put my fingers on the chords for SOTW and that first "bummm bummm bum" I thought awesome, I can learn stuff easy. Not so much:) If those were only three chords in music I'd be a superstar.

Only third song I ever heard from him. I just assumed he was like a happy go lucky beach bum and all his songs were upbeat. Sort of like Pitbull. Has Pitbull ever done a heartfelt slow song??

That was decent and has changed my view of him.

Check out "Chanson Pour Les Petits Enfants". A friend liked that song so much that he named his dog Magnus.
