He's not in the HOF. Plunkett deserves it more than Theisman.

    Ok...so You do care???
It all starts somewhere. I guess You don't take unti account Playoffs with P. Manning...almost the same, or that P. Manning played against nobody in His division(while AFCN during that time had 3 Playoff team more than once),or that He played indoors.....I guess none of that matters....
Never once did I say KFP was good yet.....I said if, or when, but You knew that.

First things First have talked about the Steelers the last couple of days, and Nick picked the Steelers to win the division. At least it sounded like Nick.

Especially the one starting with a T.

At least most posters here feel the roster is strong so that excuse can go to hell. Let’s see how the year plays out I am optimistic besides coaching.

I believe any competent team He does. Ravens ,Steelers, NE, Dallas, 49ers, and Seattle to name a few I believe He would have.

Joe Gibbs maybe one of the most underrated HCs ever. Although Heisman was pretty dang good, and yes I know He isn't in the HOF....LT maybe a reason for that.

I said competent team, but all teams can be competent, and Qb helps majorly. Ask the Bengals they had great players before, and the last time they did they were scary. Some don't remember C. Palmer before his injury, and then Seeing Steelers ghost afterwards, but they probably beat us if He doesn't get hurt that game. Put it this way they haven't won a playoff game in a very very long time, and Burrow comes in, and they have been to two AFC Championships, and one SB.

The last of those was over 30 years ago. Theismann and Rypien were far from mediocre those years.

I don’t care about what the guy in the video said. The attack on the media and some of the nonsense that followed, however, has my attention.

I never claimed that you said Pickett was good yet. I’m pointing out that it was silly for you to get bent out of shape over that guy not giving Pickett enough credit when there is so little to give him credit for right now. Maybe we should wait to see what happens if and when Pickett puts up big numbers.

The argument doesn't make much sense. They don't give Steelers' quarterbacks credit? You write that as if the media is some monolithic group of people who all do the same thing. Hell, it isn't even the same people who covered Bradshaw. Fans always seem to think the media is out to get their team and it is silly every time.

But he was still good in 1982(and 1983)...He won the MVP in 1983

Like,Flacco and Foles are not in the HOF but they were great during the playoffs in their super bowl years...But of course we have always some exception like when the broncos won with Peyton Manning who was maybe the worst starting QB in the league in 2015!

But to have a true chance to be a super bowl contender year after year you need a true special QB.Like Mahomes is for the chiefs right now or what Brady was for the pats

Eagles were a Playoff team under Reid with McNabb. Couldn't get over the hump but sure came close. Mahomes got Andy to the promised land.

Reid was God like in Philly. Guy was adored. IMO Philly fans have little respect for what McNabb did for them.

It is why for like 30 years the Packers were considered contenders. Farve then Rodgers. (please let the Jets suck balls)

QB's sure win a lot of MVP's. It is funny that Broadway Joe won MVP and didn't have a TD. Looks like he is only MVP without a TD.

I think some are missing the point in all this. Great QBs go without even making a SB. So do great coaches. So do greats all over the field. It takes a team effort, lots of focus and discipline, and even a fair share of dumb luck. Even our beloved 70s dynasty won one because a wide open Cowboy dropped a pass in the EZ.

Some teams in the SB era won with running the ball, some with defense. Nobody won a SB by themselves. I think this young Steelers team is a dangerous combo of young and hungry, and veteran know-how. Gonna be a fun season.

I don't disagree but a QB like Mahomes gives you a big advantage.

Ok. Like what has been mentioned before in this conversation. IF…Mahomes played on a struggling team, does he make them a contender by himself? The rub is that we’ve seen it both ways. Does that Ravens team make it without that defense even as good as Flacco was playing? Does that defense make it without Flacco that year?
For everything the Patriots did accomplish they don’t accomplish any of it without Brady. Same years, Brady playing for the Jets is probably just another guy.
A team must have a good QB typically to be a contender. But that QB requires the team to be a contender. Your earlier point about P. Manning is spot on.

Redskins also benefited from strike years and shortened seasons. They snuck up on the NFC.... which was stacked at the time.... Giants, Bears, 49ers. 1982 and 1987. Actually, 1991 may have been a strike year, too. Redskins had great defenses when they won all 3 of their Super Bowls. Especially, 1991.

I'm not saying Mahomes is alone and Andy Reid and his team deserve a lot of credit for the work they've done, but when you have a QB like Mahomes, the margin for error is much bigger too. Of course, I know that if your team is garbage, it will not matter to have a special player!
