Offseason Moves/Free agent signings

Trading him makes Cook the swing tackle. That is how you are putting too much faith in him. I’m no fan of Okorafor, but he is at least competent. It makes little sense to assume the line will stay healthy again.

 

You only make a trade like that IF you have an idea of where that saved space is going. We are already above our usual buffer amount for the season. Trading away a starter (whether or not he is in the long term starting plans is irrelevant) for money it the pocket and nothing more makes no sense. Either trade him after the season or cut him for a larger monetary savings post June 1. Doing so prior to this season leaves us dreadfully thin at OT.

I'm fine with Broderick Jones sitting for a while while Moore and Chuks play. We can have Jones in at LT and Moore at RT when the time is right. Now is not that time.

 

I'm sure we could get something decent for Chucks, its just a question of whether or not it is worth it. Next year I think it would be and if that is the route we go, there should be some interest across the league.

Does anybody see any corners worth looking into on this list?

 

Nobody I would stake My life on, but a few I would have liked to see in Preseason here.

 

Any of them better than Pierre? Probably not. I am more comfortable with Pierre than most. He is streaky, has some good play and some bad play... but we aren't asking him to start or be the "next man up" he is essentially a 3rd stringer who is a good ST player. This would all have been moot if Trice could've stayed healthy as he probably would have taken Pierre's spot as the 6th CB.

The point I am trying to make is that we can (and have) done MUCH worse than Pierre on the back end of our CB room in the past. He fills his role and should stick around until we can find a young guy to develop behind the starting cast. I'm not super interested in canning him for other team's off-casts in hopes of marginal improvement. That's a coin flip at best and doesn't move the needle for me.

 

Dang, really thought they would let Ryan have the spot.

 

Question...... who was mainly the center for the falcons game? Because i didn't see any problems with them. (But I was in the stands at the game, so i might have missed something).

If it was Green. I can see that's why they're keeping him over Ryan.

Nothing against Green but he was just unplayable at this point even at guard(Remember his awful game vs Jaguars last year in preseason!)

 

The fact Omar got any kind of return for Green was amazing.

The steelers received a genuine Houston Texas cowboy hat for green. Khan will look good wearing it..

 

Kinda surprised Gentry is getting released? He would have been nice depth in case of injury.
