A 9'er kicking game fiasco wouldn't be a bad thing.

Can we get some Kittle and CMC issues to pop up? Maybe a Bosa flu?

I doubt he's not playing in 2 weeks. It would be great if he didn't though. If he does play it will be like TJ coming back and that's not necessarily good for the tackles!

Make them wish they still had Trey Lance. Sack after sack of Purdy and Darnold

I hope the Steelers bring their A game. If they do, we will be just fine.

Steelers win this game thanks to home field advantage. We have to travel to LA and Seattle, so glad the Niners had to come here.

Kind of wish we played the NFC South this year!!

Bosa has missed all of preseason, while he has undoubtedly stayed in shape I can’t see how he could be ready to play at 100%. If they sort his contract between now and then he may come in and get some snaps but no way he plays a full game, he has had no contact practice all offseason and hasn’t even been at their facility by all accounts.

Purdy has supposedly been very up and down in camp and is coming off a bad injury.

I like the Steelers in this one. Very excited to see how Pickett and the offence perform against a real NFL defence.

    "Against a real NFL defense"
Buffalo had the #6 defense in yds per game in 2022, the #2 defense in scoring. They played their starters against our starters.
San Fran was #1 in both categories.

Maybe I should be more nervous about this game. The fact is Tomlin has had the team prepared for the opening game the past two seasons vs. quality opponents on the road at Buffalo and at Cincinnati. The Steelers did catch a break with Burrow being compromised coming off an appendectomy, but they took advantage of it. If the Steelers lines play well, the Steelers were win. The d-line has to neutralize the 49ers run game. Watt and Highsmith have to be aware of McCaffrey slipping into their vacated areas from the pass rush. If the o-line neutralizes the 49ers pass rush, the offense will move the ball.

But I hope our offense will be much better than the last two week 1 since our offensive performance in both games was just awful and it was signs to come in the course of the season!

Yes of course, that said teams don’t normally show their hand in preseason, players are still trying but there would have been minimal game planning for that game.

SF will have been working on how to stop the Steelers offence for weeks. It should be a much better measure of how much they’ve progressed is what I meant.

49ers will sign BT Potter for the game and he will miss 2 fg's (1being blocked)

The Steelers secondary is going to get tested big time. The 9ers will want to protect Purdy so I expect they'll have a lot of short passes and runs to get the ball in their playmakers hands. Hard to imagine they'll be able to go deep, at least early in the game

Deebo Samuel is going to be tough to go against, you have to account for him in the run and passing game, I hope Bosa continues his holdout and misses the game .

16 days off after a very entertaining and motivating pre-season is a bit troublesome. Game prep goes both ways. Playing 3 of last 4 games on the road also sucks. Sept 10 can't get here fast enough. :towel:

Agreed. You would think with the loss of a preseason game they'd move the season up one week at least.
