Given that the price was so low, I'd have liked to see the Steelers make that deal, too. I guess they feel that they already filled that role with Neal.

Oh my GoD!!!! I am so pissed; A 7th rounder!!! Are you kidding me!!!!

Why in the hell were we not buyers for Isaiah Simmons at that price??

Now someone please find me a young 25-year-old starting CB for a 7th round pick and all will be forgiven.

I think they like Gunner, I know Kenny does. They aren’t in cap hell so I doubt money plays a roll.

What has Simmons done in the NFL? He has been a draft bust so far.

Agreed, but a 7th round pick is not much to find out, but it's water under the bridge now. So....

I think the bigger factor is the team's depth. If he isn't returning kicks, he is a luxury. They may not have room for that luxury.

I am certain they will keep at least five, but Boykin is likely to be one of them. If Gunner isn't returning kicks, Boykin is the more useful player on special teams. I hope they do find room for him. I certainly would rather see him lining up on offense than Boykin, who is nearly useless aside from his blocking ability.

I agree, but do they put 6 wr on the roster for gameday??? I really don't know. Depending on the situation they usually had 3 TE's, 3 RB's and a FB. Conner kind of gives you a 2 for 1, so it frees up a spot, unless they keep 3 TE's and dress, then using Conner as an HB.

I think Heyward takes the fullback spot occupied by Watt last season. It also depends whether or not they keep Gentry.

I really do not think it matters what position he is put in, they will use his multiple talents, lol. As stated I think it comes down to schemes and special teams. I was listening to someone (so many I forget), but remembering when they actually used 3 TE's. Now Conner certainly could be one of those, but if they value Gentry as a line blocker then the thought process changes. I really have no clue, I'm more than comfortable with Conner as the 3TE/FB hybrid, it just comes down to what they value and want to do.

Every time a kind of big name player is available fans want to sign him, now fans want that bust CB Greedy Williams, remember that nonsense the Steelers are going to trade for Chase Young .

At this point, does he even make the PS? Sometimes you just have to admit you made a colossal mistake by cutting a high draft pick. To me it's a form of penance for having ignored the offensive line for so long.

They don't do that though. I've brought this up 600 times, and people will say .....Oh You think they just keep a guy because they don't want to admit a mistake.....what a stupid take.....LoL....I just say.....J. Jones, Green,T. Edmunds, bush, and many many others. They have been that way since I remember. The only time this is different is when a new HC comes in, and they didn't draft the guy. I Love the team so Im not complaining, but come on.....We all have seen it.

You thought right, but with the stable of tight ends they now have (though Gentry being seen in a boot muddles things a bit) on top of Heyward as the H-back/TE hybrid there’s a chance they go with five this year.

I'll take it. I'm guessing about 40 spots up this year and 40 next year. We have pretty good luck with our fourth rounders. $2.7 million in cap space, and two good looking rookies get to make the team, a fourth tackle and a jack of all trades.

Edmunds lasted on the roster that long because they didn't have a replacement who was an improvement. Actually, that was the case with Jones, too.
