I know there's at least one pro on here. Anyone else? Pro, enthusiast? Hobbyist? If so, what gear do you shoot? Let's see some of your best!

That Mojave Desert guy must be into photography. His avatar picture of the sun was amazing. Pretty sure he has other pics he has posted.

I mean lets face it, what else does he have to do in a freaking desert?? Rumor has it he watches Steeler games atop a sand dune;)

Total hobbyist. I love photography. I use a Canon T6I my favorite walk around lens is my Tamron 18-400. My favorite prime lens is Canon 50. Love that lens. Not sure yet how to post a pic but I'll work on it.

I’m a Nikon guy myself. I shoot a D4 and an F5. For medium format, I’ve got a Pentax 645D. I like that camera a lot but, I just don’t understand why it writes to an SD card instead of CF

A few points kind Sir - I moved out of the perennial 2% humidity CA Mojave Desert over 3 years ago and relocated 250 miles north to the base of the stormy/snowy CA Eastern Sierra Nevadas (current avatar is from just a few months ago with much but not all of that melted now). I thought of re-enlisting as "High Sierra Steeler Fan" but then I'd lose all my accrued highly coveted TSF Trophy Points (whatever they are - LOL) - so I'm Mojave for life.

My lady is the real shutter-bug in this household and has transformed me to everything Nikon. We have a D-5100, D-7200 and a P-1000 with a crazy 3000mm built in lens that can easily capture the 4 larger moons of Jupiter as well as the rings and a few larger moons of Saturn on a tripod with remote shutter control. The sun spot photo was a spur of the moment thing without a tripod when I first acquired a sheet of cutable solar Mylar film that you tape over your lenses. I bought a sheet large enough to cover all 3 cameras, two sets of binocs and 2 telescopes, gearing up for the Oct 14 Annular (Ring of Fire) Solar Eclipse in northeast Nevada. I don't know enough about the hobby yet to speak intelligently about it but love geology and astronomy and that is where my photo interests mainly lie. :thumbs up:

My son and I shot Alabama hills a few years ago on our way back from Bishop. That area makes really good black and whites. Makes you feel like Ansel Adams!

Very nice. :thumbs up: Probably what I love most about this new zip code is the sight and sound of rushing water vs staring at the bland concrete CA Aqueduct that traverses the High Desert (unless of course it's the crushing sound of a flash flood heading your way spurred on by Hilary.)
