    pierre

do any of these 3 stick?

gentry was playing with the 3's mostly. does he stay? many think he does but i'm not so sure now.

we went from no LB'ers to a whole bunch of guys that can play. who sticks?

I still believe Dotson will be dealt within the coming days. Given how some teams could really use a Guard capable player, Dotson fits that bill. Problem is though is that Kevin Dotson has played virtually every snap at Left; his lack of versatility being a detriment in discussions. Doing both would be a whole lot better but you never know when it comes to NFL Teams and FOs as a whole.

Regarding Pierre and Green?! Both are as good as gone. As I stated in the GameDay Thread, Greedy Williams is available and does have NFL Experience. I would rather roll the dice on him if there are no other options. This all said, nabbing a backup Center is a must.

I do hope that Ryan McCollum has shown enough to crack the Final 53. If not him, at least give Spencer Anderson a look. The team cannot rely on Green as a Center anymore; much less any other position if last night's performance is any indication.

I'm going to go out on a limb here and say we will see Green on the PS. Tomlin just won't except that he and Colbert made a colossal mistake.

As far as Dotson goes I was hoping a trade happened on draft day. It didn't. Is his shoulder injury real? Or is something in the works? He will make the squad and still be dangled as trade bait. Possibly only a 5th which would be fine but I see a 6th.

I can't see how they keep Pierre. The kid has regressed and shows no improvement. Khan and Weidl are probably already looking to who is going to be cut that can fit into the system. I feel they will sign someone after the smoke clears.

IMHO Gentry comes down to what they want to do, we saw Conner in his versatile roles, but i think keeping or cutting Gentry comes down to more than that, I think it may come down between him and a 6th wr. If they cut he could get picked up, ok, Rodney Williams if they get him to the PS is capable. I think in both this and ILB numbers it comes down to sp teams..who can play, and what sub packages they want to display more. Some quality guys are going to go, just business.

I think you Keep Dotson. Seumalo is a beast, but he has a long track record of missing football games due to injury.

Kevin Dotson more than capable player and great depth piece.

James Pierre makes the team mainly due to Cory Trice Jr injury.

Pierre makes some flashy stops at times then often is out of place, he makes it mainly due to need and a guy getting hurt.

Tomlin and company are probably happy to have 4 days to figure out who to keep and cut.

They have some really hard choices with what was presented.

But, Tomlin would probably say that he likes that they made it very hard for them.

Coming out of the draft we all thought we were in trouble at depth for DL, OLB, & ILB. Damn, but we were wrong!

Edit: coming out of the draft YOU all thought..... Of course I knew we had an abundance of depth at those positions.

Edit#2: can someone tell me how to predate a post so I can fake a few posts to prove I knew all along how good our depth was?

Dotson will stick over green. However, green actually played well at right guard last night. He’s an odd one to me. I’ve read on more than one occasion that he looks great in practicez, but once in game the wheels fall off. Pierre sticks due to special teams.

I think there is a disconnect between the fans and the organization as it pertains to Green.

I could be wrong but I think he sticks.

Did he get on the field as a FB yesterday? At worst, I think as @CK 13@CK 13 said, he will end up on the PS but I have a feeling he makes the team outright.

I'm not sure any of the defensive linemen they would want to deal has trade value.

I am very concerned about their cornerbacks. Sadly, I think they may roll with Pierre again, which is not good. Greedy Williams is talented, but he hasn't been able to translate that into performance in the NFL.

I opened this thread thinking I was going to see some actual cuts taking place already.

I don't know if the Steelers will drop a bomb on Tuesday, or start sending out notices one by one on who they are releasing.

I still think we keep Dotson to be the 1st Guard off the bench.

He actually played both positions ok last night....., and as everyone that knows Me on here knows.....I Love this club, but they are, or can be very stubborn on admission of making mistakes. So I think Green sticks.

Dotson has played both left and right guard positions since he was drafted.

The lack of versatility is that he only plays guard, and has no experience or flexibility playing T or C.

I understand the 'stubborness' last year, they took the kid and put him in a nearly impossible situation as a rookie, gave another year (never dressed) to see what he might develop into, but at this point it's beyond that..they have Dotson, McCollum (who may not be great, but not as bad as Green), and Anderson who we really do not know, but is intriguing. Omar is trying to put together a team that can compete for championships. Your backups are not going to be all pro or even pro bowl guys, but you also cannot let ego or false pride enter into your decisions. Green is a liability...period. Anderson and McCollum may not be better, so you scour the cuts and FA list and bring in another guy, but you don't keep someone to hide your mistake.

He played some at right guard as a rookie, then became the starter on the left side.

I recommend lying and sticking to your story

An attorney friend said that once in a bar

And she wasn’t even talking to anyone in particular she just blurted it while sitting at the bar

Part of it is because injuries, but also bc he sucks. TBH he is worse than Pierre. No thanks on that. Pierre will be inactive if he makes the squad anyways

His rookie year he played on the right side when DeCastro was injured and played very well. He was actually much better than on the left side. He was a right guard his entire college career, and he played his best football as a rookie on the right side. It is his natural position.
