Even rap has it's place. I think Brother Gil might have invented rap. For - like - EVER this song has been my standard bass guitar warmup and I still find it virtually impossible to play and sing at the same time. As for the content: Pertinent as ever.

Here's a related (sic) cute little number - Dweezil and Moon Unit on the only-ever live performance of Valley Girl. Dweezil and Moon are copacetic but when Gail Zappa died she left each of them only 20 percent of the rights and 30 percent to each of the other two, and it was those 2 noodges that got the cease and desist order

Many of the best bassists are women. Notably including Sara Lee.

Yes Sara Lee. The girl in the bathtub in the Love Shack video, bassist on Fripp's formative League of Gentlemen album, played bass and pennywhistle on Indigo Girls Closer To Fine

Dang. First Rachel Flowers makes me want to give up on playing the electric guitar, now Victor Wooten makes me want to give up on playing bass.

Yeah it is. Gil was great. And like Patti Smith though in a whole different genre he was a poet who needed the music to get his stuff across, and did it exceptionally well. And just like Patti Smith, I want to read anything he ever wrote.

Want to see First Aid Kit make Patti Smith cry? What a kick she must have got out of seeing these young kids do her song so well and faithfully. When big sister steps up and goes into the rap at the end, replete with classic Patti Smith gestures and moves, I went right into it too, cuz I know that poem. I bought that record. Obviously you, like I, recognize that many of the most influential people in music are the ones that nobody bought their records.

I think it's called if You have a talent....I want to hear it..., or something like that. It's just a few, or more threads down from this one. Post some of Your music

Yeah they're creative as can be and nothing harmonizes like sisters. Here's one of the more original and compelling songs I've seen in recent years.

Loved The Beach Boys. Saw them in San Diego, Ca. in 74. When they did, "California Girls" that place went insane.

Always hated Ahole, scumbag Manson had anything to do with them. Speaking of the Ahole, I enjoyed that movie when a tripping his ass off Brad Pitt made for a very happy ending. Not to mention the woman who should marry me, Margot Robbie, played Sharon Tate.

No....I'm not talking about beatnik rap....where any poem is put to a piece of music is called rap...I'm talking nursery rhymes with cuss words, nobody can , read music, play music, sing, and , or steals samples so they have a piece of so called music.

Did a rapper steal your woman once?

Also, what if Mastadon made a rap album? Would you still love them? Maybe not as much?

I don't count this because it's only partially, and it was pretty original for the time. This was My babysitters favorite band. LoL
